Get ready..make a fresh pot of coffee. Put the baby down for a nap. Hold all your calls.. VP Dick Cheney will be delivering a major response to the Dems who want to cut and run from Iraq in a LIVE speech from the Heritage Foundation. On C-span 1 at 11 AM, scheduled for one hour. and you can expect all the cable news nets to carry it...and then Rush is back today, and will explain it all for us again..and it would NOT surprise me if the Veep turns up as a special guest on Rush's show today..
BTTT
You know it's funny you mentioned about the long tail. I've had cats over the years, six at one time, four now, many now gone. But we just got this kitten and she's got the longest tail I've ever seen in a cat.
I mentioned this to the vet and husband and both look at me blankly. Until now I've never noticed much different in the length of a cat's tail. This kitten, unoriginally named Lucy-a calico gal- really, really has a long tail.
And yes, that "Lucy" moniker does evoke Dezi Arnaz type summonses across the household. ;)
Outstanding! That's what I like to see. We need constant attitude adjustment in this theatre.
Well done.
Thanks so much for the synopsis, Peach!
I didn't get to tune in for Vice President Cheney's speech. I am, however, going to be able to tune in to Rush to hear what he has to say about all of this. Yeah!
Salazar has always been a party man. As Attorney General he wasn't too bad, but his party loyalties were never in question. He'll be a one-termer, I think. At least, he will be if Colorado's Republicans can nominate somebody with half a chance of winning.
IMO Murtha's statement was challenged, not the man in total. But, as you know, the democrats are big time over-reactors and grandstanders. I'm sure they put Murtha up to making the statement to begin with. Glad the House showed some guts Friday night.
Dems used the term imminent..not Bush.
re: Waxman
Too much pork.
see http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1525975/posts?page=85#85 I've added some more candidates to choose from
;^)
Putting politics aside..Cheney would have a hard time because of the health issue..you could trot out every cardiologist in the world to say he's fine, but many people would have a sense of worry..given his cardiac history...BTW...McCain, if he runs, will have the ame problem..the skin cancer thing..wait till people start readign about melanoma, how it is the deadliest, and least treatable type of cance..
Agreed on both counts. Cheney's greatest asset for Bush is the fact that he insists he is not running.
McCain and Giuliani are both distrusted by the Base. Rice, however, is not, and I suspect is being groomed by Bush for a succession-her denials notwithstanding.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
I applaud your reply!
OK! Ya gotta post pics of FEMA!
Good for you april!
Great post!
Shameless media...
Pelosi Galore will probably hit the DNC mattress first to lie, spin, revise and revile.
Then, their paragon of truth and original thought Bidet, oops Biden will be on tonight.
Good point!
The whole Murtha thing is disingenuous... he doesn't even believe his own policy prescription.
Rather, it's another last-ditch effort to have the House swing to Democratic control in the 2006 elections, because many of the senior RAT members genuinely want to retire in 2006 or 2008. However, their retirements will open more competitive districts, and thus guarantee a GOP House for another decade. The RATS are tired of being in the minority, particularly in the House, and their leadership is begging them not to retire and to play games with the American people so as to regain control of the House.
That is what is going on here.
"Murtha, a Vietnam combat veteran, is widely seen as the caucus's foremost authority on military issues. At least one Democrat predicted that many other members would fall in line behind Murtha."
I am counting the days before Dems roll-out the old "chicken-hawk" argument in regards to Vice-President Cheney et al. I am thankful and respectful of Congressman Murtha's service in the military. We all should be. But it does not automatically give him more standing to determine what the best course of action is in regards what we should do in matters of Iraq, terrorism.
Like it or not, that's a political decision, one that the U.S. Constitution left to civilian leaders - and it's quite possible those civilian leaders could be rank amateurs in regards to the military. If folks don't like that, they can propose a Constitutional Amendment to require those who make decisions on if the US "goes to war" to have served in the military, in combat. Until then, we'll go by the U.S. Constitution.
And yes, I served in the US Military...
My little orange tabby kitten is names Tuck. My daughter loved the movie/book Tuck Everlasting.
The other day I heard my kids singing "The Name Game" using family names. I about had a heart attack as I ran into the room to stop the song when my seven year old yells out "Tuck" as next in line to be used. "Tuck Tuck bo buck bananabana fo ****. lol
