U.S. and Iraqi troops have launched Operation Bruins in northern Ar Ramadi, 60 miles west of Baghdad in Iraq's restive Anbar province, the U.S. military announced Nov. 20. The operation, which involves approximately 300 U.S. Marines and 150 Iraqi Army soldiers, is intended to clear parts of the predominantly Sunni Muslim town of nationalist and jihadist insurgents in preparation for elections scheduled for Dec. 15.

That is less than 1/10th of 1% of the force there.
I wish them well.

For the umpteenth million time, they are not "nationalists" (well, maybe national socialist), nor are they "insurgents". They are terrorists who gladly kill Iraqis, bomb mosques, slaughter women and children.
When the media starts truthfully defining the enemies of liberty instead of attacking the military and political leadership who defend it, the WoT will become 1,000 times easier for America and the Coalition.
Oh, wait, that means the media's terrorist and Communist allies will lose...

I agree and am impressed that so little of our forces are needed.

Never happen with these people. They are "soldiers without guns" fighting for the other side, plain and simple.
We need to have someone buy some media outlets devoted to the truth. Don't call it "conservative." The truth.

Sounds like 300 Marines and 100 interpreters. That ought to be plenty. Surely there won't be more than 3,000 enemy there.

Don't get upset, they are not talking about the whole city of Ramadi.
A TOWN in Northern Ramadi.
Sort of like Anacostia in D.C.

If you mean the M1 disembarking the LCAT, I am not sure. I am pretty sure from the flora that it is some beach in CA during the LCAT training. I put it there knowing it was a USMC tank because I trained with a few USMC tankers as an LT and CPT at Knox and I have a lot of respect for them.
