At least one Arab television media outlet reported that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the head of the al-Qaida in Iraq, was killed in Iraq on Sunday afternoon when eight terrorists blew themselves up in the in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.

The unconfirmed report claimed that the explosions occurred after coalition forces surrounded the house in which al-Zarqawi was hiding.

WASHINGTON, Nov 20 (Reuters) - U.S. authorities are looking into whether al Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed in a gunfight in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, a U.S. official said on Sunday, but a White House spokesman said that was "highly unlikely."

Thanks for the link, but the JPost seems to have some sloppy reporting there, I believe. The initial reports were from Saturday, and this article is saying Sunday afternoon, presumably Iraq time.

Your math might be off. If there were eny goats in there, you'd have to count the feet and divide by four.

"Count the feet, and divide by two."
Zarqawi is/was one-legged. So if the number of collected feet is odd, it gives some hope, unless there were other one-legged ones there.

This from today with Bush in China....I bet I know what could be distracting him :D

Depending on the size of the explosions some of those feet may be "toe jam", or located on the roofs of buildings a block away.

Either Jordan or how about this theory... his own people decided to kill him. I don't think that killing a bunch of Muslims celebrating a wedding helped with Al Qaeda's "hearts and minds" campaign. And killing one of your own SO means that Al Qaeda is coming apart at the seams.

You know, terrorism isn't easy. Here you are, holed up in some dive. The place gets surrounded, and you know it's going to be a long night slithering out of this one. So you hand your cellphone to one of the foreign mujahadeen (they work cheaper, you know) to order in some dinner and BOOM, the dumb-ass speed dials the number on the IED that you just finished and didn't have a chance to plant yet. I mean, didn't someone tell him that "fried mashed eggplant" was a codeword for a 155 MM artillery shell, not a local take-out joint? What a putz!

The DUmmies will be deeply saddedned by this.

So will Murtha-F'er, Kerry, Reed, Pelosi, Boxer, Kennedy and every other damn Traitor in our midst!

Watch if this is true...they will spin it as bad news for America, more evidence of a "quagmire", ect.

Time for a Washington D.C game of whack-a-mole! Every time one of these traitors pops up, time to put them down with whatever means necessary!

Much of it isn't by accident. An enemy without standing armies will routinely put out disinformation to cover their tracks, leading their pursuers in all directions. Makes for good propaganda when news breaks of a victory, then a week later or so later it's found the news was inaccurate, resulting in a propaganda victory for the enemy. But in this case, with the recent events in Jordon seemingly backfiring on the perpetrators, lends more credibility to this news.

Only time will tell.

Zarqawi probably killed!
According to these two sources,(in arabic) Iraqi and US military forces in Mosul think that Zarqawi, al-Qaeda leader in Iraq was possibly killed in a raid on a house where members of al-Qaeda were holding a meeting.
Al-Mada paper said that terrorists hiding in a house fired back at American and Iraqi troops that were surrounding the house in a battle that lasted from dawn to noon on Saturday (Jerusalem Post said it was Sunday)`after receiving intelligence about a meeting for senior al-Qaeda members.

The terrorists blew up the house when an Iraqi assault team tried to break into the house, the blast killed four Iraqi soldiers and wounded ten policemen and also killed all of the hiding terrorists.
Eight charred bodies were found in the scene, one of them belongs to a woman.
An Iraqi security official in Mosul said that US forces will most likely conduct DNA tests on the found bodies to verify whether or not Abu Musaab al-Zarqawi was among the killed terrorists.

If anyone has more information on this news, please leave a note in the comments.
