At least one Arab television media outlet reported that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the head of the al-Qaida in Iraq, was killed in Iraq on Sunday afternoon when eight terrorists blew themselves up in the in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.
The unconfirmed report claimed that the explosions occurred after coalition forces surrounded the house in which al-Zarqawi was hiding.
WASHINGTON, Nov 20 (Reuters) - U.S. authorities are looking into whether al Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed in a gunfight in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, a U.S. official said on Sunday, but a White House spokesman said that was "highly unlikely."

Poor gal. Maybe she can use that 25 million as a down payment on a nose bob.
I dont know how they can read that, but I like the message.
The remains to be seen, I have gotten my hopes up too many times before.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY!!!!
If this rumor is true we will have a special blessing on "Turkey Day" . There is a Good God!! The Leader of Terrorism has no clothes, No beating heart, no etc. The TURKEY is dead!
"Iraqi and U.S. forces had suspected Abu Musab Zarqawi, leader of Iraq's most feared insurgent group, might be at the house."
..and just why did anyone on our side hesitate for more than 30 seconds to surround the place and storm it, as necessary?
HF
.... who looked like Osama BinLaden.
We live in SW Iowa. REAL little town in the outskirts of nowhere. And we live 15 miles outside of it! Cornfields on 3 sides of us. BEAUTIFUL 6 acre slice of heaven ;)
Stay positive; we may have cause for an extra serving of turkey this year.
LOL! Now I just hope I can find forgiveness from our peers for encouraging you.
A couple of things.
Z is known to wear a bomb belt to blow himself up to prevent being captured.
The Jordanians probably had a pretty good idea where he was, but were ambivalent about our presence in Iraq and were unwilling to turn him. Were it to leak out that they burned Zarqawi earlier, it could get uncomfortable for the King. Now that Z Boob has killed Jordanian civilians at a wedding party and threatened the life of King Abdullah, the King has the casus belli he needs to openly cooperate with Central Command. Zarqawi drew first blood. The rest of the Arabs will understand that the King must burn Zarqawi to finally put the Mad Dog to sleep.
The position of Zarqawi as misunderstood Jordanian Pan-Arab patriot has been dealt a fatal blow.
In return, Abdullah will obtain important concessions from the Americans and the Baghdad government.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
Not likely. I'm inclined to believe he's gone down in the firefight, since he's proclaimed many times that he would not allow himself to be captured alive.
After that gaffe of blowing up the Jordanian wedding party I'm sure Zarqawi has every reason to want to disappear. I imagine that OBL will send out a new general to take over operations in the Iraqi theatre.
Last year there were reports that ZarqaWi had been killed. The media treated it like the news was real.
I happened to have on CNN. They gathered all the usual suspects like Begala, Carville, Wolf Blitzer and the rest. They started discussing Zaraqwi and what his death meant. It was unanimous that Zarqawi was a small bit player whose death meant nothing. Bin Laden was the big fish and Zarqawi simply a minnow in the sea of terrorists.
It then was reported that Zarqawi was indeed still alive. The same pannel decided it was the biggest loss in the War on Terrorism. How could Bush survive the 2004 election with the new mastermind of Al-Qaeda still at large.
It was actually pretty funny seeing CNN turn on a dime. If Zarqawi is dead, watch for the media to immediately downplay his role.
If you replay Murtha's speech backwards you can hear it quite distinctly.
Well that is a consideration to be sure. LOL
You misspelled "had".
If it comes up on the slimes, I'd be quite skeptical.
