And I well understand how veering ever so slightly off the standard ditto course here on these threads should require the Surgeon General's warning.

Insults and posturing are NOT answers. Answer the question.

It would be nice if we had a fair and balanced press that would except our way, our line of thinking and present fair and balanced debates on every issue that comes up in the political world of today. It's hard to counter lies when certain segments of the media are controlled by the opposite party.NO matter how hard we try they will always use our words against us. Truth will seldom prevail

The sad thrut is we have a very biased media. That's why we bust our butts here to get the truth out about the war on terror and many other things that happen. It maybe trite to say that the new media is our tomorrow but it's not. We have to depend on ourselves from now on, will we always do a perfect job, no, in a word, but in general we have truth on our side.

The new dem talking point is that "Clinton didnt go to war, even though he recognized the threat"

And the response should be:

"Neither did he, when the WTC was bombed, when soldiers were slaughtered in Somalia, when the embassies in Africa were bombed, when the USS Cole was attacked. And even bin Laden admitted these inactions lead to his decision to attack the WTC and Pentagon on 9-11-01."

Thanks for this post, and magnificent response!

Yes, I've been accused of being a troll. It is easy with some of the self appointed leaders here.

I used to have a media bias file. It got so large, I stopped keeping it. It's a given they are biased.

When you own the WH, Senate and House, there is a way around the media filter. It's called large press conferences that the press is virtually required to cover. During prime time. And don't just answer questions. Go on offense detailing some of the lies of the left and speak the truth about those lies. It's not THAT hard.

It's only the negative, defeatist attitude that assumes we can't get around the liberal filter of the press. I'm not accusing you of that attitude, but I see it on this very thread.

OK. I am back from starting supper.

I am not intending to attack you, and I am sorry I came off that way.

But gosh darn it, Peach, I am not concerned about what YOU are doing! It is getting OTHERS to do it that I am concerned about.

I think you spend too much time dwelling on the past. We can argue all day about whether or not the President spoke enough, or whether the Congress was timid. It is in the past.

What we need to do is turn this around, and the ONLY way to do it is to get people involved and enthusiastic about their mission. Constantly poor-mouthing the President's PR and Congress's spine is not the way to do it. I brought up some suggestions for everyone on FR to use. I had hoped you could add to it.

My goal is to get the Congress to act and overcome the press. I want to make the MSM afraid and get them to respond to what WE want, rather than their Rat buddies. I want people overwhelming the troops with support.

Now, you can either continue with trying to prove your point about the past, or you can work to try and fix things. The choice is yours.

we grow a little weary of being preached at by people who complain always but apparently do not DO anything.

Unlike you, I don't brag about what I do, I just do it. And as for preaching, I think you do pretty well yourself.

I just heard Biden say that Cheney and Bush BOTH said that in the run up to the war....that Saddam was an IMMINENT THREAT...and when Chris Wallace said they didn't, he said, "oh yes they did, they did"...

LIAR, LIAR...damn

I find this denial about the sinking morale fascinating. This is Ollie North's article (which I'm sure will be parsed by those wishing the facts were otherwise).

I read the article, Peach, and here is how I parse it. It is a broadside by Ollie at the wimps in Congress. What I hear regarding the troops is not demoralization, but anger. Oh, and disbelief at the stupidity of politicians.

Perfect example. Wallace didn't cal him on it, did he? All of us know Biden is lying about what Cheney and the President said, but Wallace just let it slide.

How is the President supposed to counter this? No rebuttal is possible. I guess I will send Wallace an e-mail. Like it will help.

Ok, Screw the observable data. Group think rules. Because of some half remembered comment that may or may not be accurately quoted it is obvious that the Demos are destroying military morale with their lies and GW Bush is complicit because he "Doesn't fight back".

Obviously since emotional whimsy trumps fact just ignore all the observable data because it makes certain Freepers feel so much better about what superior people they are because they see something NO ONE else sees and like Cassandra tragically bring it to their attention just to be ignored by the "Echo chamber" "stuck in denial" Freepers.

Sorry but the Conservative Movement I grew up with THINKS their politics, they do NOT feel them. The second I see people using emotion rather then fact to make their case I get suspicious.

Miss Marple, I wholeheartedly agree on your post. I do not mean to criticize you Peach, but you have been so down lately that I do not recognize your posts anymore. None of us are saying that every poll is skewed but most of them are. We know that the numbers are lower for a variety of reasons, but not that low,and where did you get the idea that we feel everything is rosy? I have no idea where you come from anymore, nobody said anything about the Soldiers not caring that there is a mixed message, about the war and that they don't care about the criticism about them. That is baloney. Why do you think that we are doing everything we can to let the Soldiers know we Support them to our dying Breath?

You need to do your homework on these Polls and you sound seriously so depressed that you are not about to listen to what other posters are trying to tell you.

Depressed? Please keep to the subject and leave my emotional state out of it. As for others who are trying to tell me about polls, I tend not to pay a lot of attention to folks who renounce all the polls when they are bad and tout them when they are good. And that is a frequent habit of Freepers.

They play with these Poll questions to make the news to change people's minds, it is called manipulation and they are good at it. They got you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How does a news organization manipulate the news that the President's approval rating is at 36%?

Nobody is saying the numbers are not lower, but a lot of the numbers are from Republicans that disagree about Borders and other issues, and they are not 30% approval.

Now it appears you are beginning to understand that yes, a lot of Republicans are not happy not only with what they perceive as a lack of progress in the WOT, but on the border issue, the nomination of Meirs, the lack of progress of energy, Katrina, the deficit, etc. Whether it's in the 30 percent range or not I don't know. But what is certain is that neither do you or the other experts here.

You are doing what they are doing, you are trying to depress others with your negativity.

So only positive things can be said here. Ignore reality?

Maybe you could recap it for me in 200 words or less. ; )

That is NOT answering the question. Sorry but if you want to have "some intellectual honesty" answer the question. What do you think you accomplish acting as the DNC's echo chamber?

Well, when you tell me what specifically I have said that echoes the DNC, I will answer you. But I see no need to answer a general insult.

Sorry if I have not answered everyone's posts, but I have had three long phone calls and visitors and now we are getting a monsoon Thunderstorm thanks to that stupid Gamma. My dog is perched on the top of my recliner and half on my head, this is how she copes with a storm. I will try to go back and read the two hundred posts I missed after I cook Supper. Gotta go for now.
