That's a valid question. Even Senate Republicans don't seem to know what they want. As the "World's Greatest Deliberative Body" was exploring how to set a "date certain" for withdrawing troops without setting a certain date, Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, said, "Americans do not cut and run, Americans do not abandon their commitments and Americans do not abandon their friends." But he voted for the measure anyway.
That's Ollie North. And that's how a good portion of the Republicans in Congress have been acting and voting.
I agree
the PR Staff needs get their act in gear ASAP
Regarding your comment - "Bush is no Ronald Reagan." I'll just say that President Reagan was no George W Bush! He didn't have to deal with as much problems as GWB. Sometimes I get a little tired of Reaganites belittling President Bush.
You're living in dreamland. The military is depressed BECAUSE of what they're hearing in the media. Why don't you write the military men and women risking their lives overseas that they are giving too much power to the press and being doom and gloomers. I'm virtually certain that will help cheer them up.
Hyper exagernation and calling people names does not make your point. It makes the Chicken Little Freepers sound like hysterics. Sorry it is NOT denial to look at the facts, then look at the posts of an unknown on a website and wonder just what the posters agenda is when they insist on hyping panic stricken nonsense? Kind of curious what the Chicken Little think they accomplish acting as the DNC's echo chamber?
Just when you had me believing you were an expert on polls. I started today with post 96, and from there 249, 273, 344, 352. I did not ever mention polls. I was discussing Murtha and the Democrat strategy. Polls came in after that.
Still waiting for one of the Doom and Gloom crowd to explain to me what they think they accomplish acting as the echo chamber for the DNC spin machine?
Not only is that pathetic, it's a little frustrating to have that as your only retort. You seem to be quite able to discuss a difference of opinion on its face, and with some intellectual honesty. Why continue to resort to that?
I saw that interview and was waiting to see if anyone else had seen it...I knew that I would have a hard time explaining it...
I have seen the woman CIA person before, usually on Chrissy's show....
but, I hadn't seen the man...he was very interesting. Thanks for posting that.
Rummy should resign. He refused to support building up our military (especially armor); He botched the border situation in Iraq with Syria and Iran (allowing the place to be overrun with Al Quaeda and foreign terrorists) and he got Marines killed by backing down in Fallujah.
I am too. The Repubs need to do more of that. They have been too content to sit back and let the Democrats attack and then to defend. The best defense is a good offense.
LOL....Feingold was up on the Senate floor giving a "let's all wear more sweaters" speech the other day...and I kept asking myself if he really has POTUS ambitions,
WHY would he conjur up the image of CARTER??? LOL
Now that takes some pretty signigicant communication among all of the polling groups. I can't argue that Kerry losing was in Hillary's interest, but I'm not sure how the Fox poll question, "Do you approve or disapprove of the job George W. Bush is doing as president" can somehow be manipulated.
As I said in a previous post, the type of respondents in any poll can be skewed. That would even include FOX's polls.
Anyway my point isn't that the electorate is solidly behind the president. My point is that I have no trust for the polls and that a better indication is to see how the electorate's representatives performed this week.
BTW, if the FOX poll so trustworthy then why don't we amend our constitution? We can have FOX News and the polling company that they hire, Opinion Dynamics Corporation take a survey in place of having elections.
Right??
A lot of the Congresscritters use the Christmas break to go to Iraq....let's hope that a lot of GOP Senators make that a top priority.
I am sorry but as soon as I start hearing things that are too far to one side or the other I always get suspicious of what the Freepers agenda REALLY is.
Hayworth: That is really beneath contempt. I'm truly surprised at his white stripe.
OUCH! That is going to leave a mark!!!! Well said!
I am glad to see I am not the only one of FR that feels that way about the Reaganites...thanks!
I was making a comment on his communication skills. I did not mean to belittle the President, but let's face it, since FDR, there have been only 3 presidents who could effectively communicate, and our current president is not one of them. But no offense against the President intended. Right now, communication from the President is essential.
O'Reilly, is that you???
What unknown web site are you referring to?
And what name calling are you, who has been calling everyone who disagrees with you a Doom and Gloomer, referring to?
Here is what I've said.
1) Military morale is low. True. Unless you think Ollie North is lying. Do you believe #1?
2) Congressional Democrats are talking about re-taking the House next year and then will start impeachment hearing. True. There have been articles stating this in their own words.
3) The administration has not done a good job countering the lies on the left, until last week. True. Have you seen evidence of the administration combating the lies on the left?
4) Same with Congressional Republicans as #3.
5) Denials that 1-4 are true will hurt us in the long run because then we aren't being the activists supporting the military and calling on Congress to stand firm against the lies on the left.
