Mapes has been on all these Shows, but she is an embarrassment and even other Journalists are running the other way from her. I believe the consensus of opinion is that she is a Nutcase gone over the edge.

I am with you on Carter. I lived through the Carter years (which were like dog years...each seemed like 7) when I was a young married woman.
The morale in the country was so low that the entire country got patriotic because we won the Gold Medal in Olympic Hockey; it was the only good thing America saw in those long 4 years.

I rarely post on these threads but your post(s) bother me. You keep harping on poll numbers and using these results to bolster your position. I truly feel there are better ways to cement one's position without using media polls as a foundation. Besides negativity will never win the day, at least not with me.
As someone who HAS been called 6 times by pollsters for MSNBC, CNN, Newsweek, and others I can attest to their smarminess.
At least three (3) pollsters would start with idle chitchat before asking VERY liberally worded questions. I assume they didn't want me truly focused on what they were asking. Kind of a verbal 3-card Monty.
When I mentioned that no matter how I answered, the response favored a demo talking point, they stammered to another question. I finally interrupted the one pollster and framed the question as it should be asked to get an accurate sampling. Boy did this tick one guy off. He then asked whether I was a democrat or Republican--I answered Conservative. He then told me he couldn't use my responses and that his company would probably not bother me again and hung up.
Yea, they're above politics.

Yeah, but I understand whale blubber is cheaper than heating oil or Propane gas. It could heat a three bedroom Igloo nicely.

The president's approval rating has dropped below 50% back during the fall of 2003. It only spiked to the 2002 highs when Saddam was captured back in December 2003 and has been consistently under 50% throughout the 2004 campaign. And then came the 2004 election.

The Dims no longer have any real power...With respect, Cedric, this is simply not so. If you meant to say "legitimate" power, then you might be able to make that case, but the sad truth is that they still have far too much "real" power. You underestimate them at your, and our, peril...

Your post re: the Arabs over here voting for the dems...is so right...
THAT is their ultimate game plan for the United States...take over our country by infiltrating our political system....which will be accomplished if the ACLU has anything to say about it.

WOW....great idea....I used to love those briefings during and right after the initial battles...and I have missed them.
Remember the black spokesman from over in Doha? I can't remember his name, but he was terrific!

I find it astounding that the only word people heard in Jean Schmidt's words was "coward" and it's immediately assumed she meant Murtha is a coward. Here's the quote, for the record. Looks right, best of my recollection having watched the replay about 30 times.
Ms. Schmidt: Yesterday I stood at Arlington National Cemetery attending the funeral of a young marine in my district. He believed in what we were doing is the right thing and had the courage to lay his life on the line to do it. A few minutes ago I received a call from Colonel Danny Bop, Ohio Representative from the 88th district in the House of Representatives. He asked me to send Congress a message: Stay the course. He also asked me to send Congressman Murtha a message, that cowards cut and run, Marines never do. Danny and the rest of America and the world want the assurance from this body - that we will see this through.http://www.dccc.org/stakeholder/archives/003927.html
