Missed most of LE, as usual.
It appears Blitzer interviewed Rummy, then brought in a stream of pundits to dispute everything he said. Except Perle, who is usually treated like dirt by the media.
He explained that to Imus too, according to this report ...
According to a transcript of the show, Hayworth and Imus were talking about Tuesday's elections results, including the victory in Virginia by Democrat Tim Kaine over Republican Jerry Kilgore, for whom Bush had done an 11th-hour stump appearance in Viriginia. "Would you welcome President Bush to come to Arizona to campaign for you?" Imus asked Hayworth pointedly.Hayworth, speaking by phone, initially sidestepped answering Imus' question. "I would welcome President Bush to Arizona to come with me along the border and see the problems that the ranchers and the law-abiding american citizens are having there," Hayworth said.
"I would welcome President Bush to get tough on illegal immigration and understand that what happens on the border of the United States and Mexico is just as important as what's happening on the border of Syria and Iraq," the Arizona congressman said.
"So I would welcome President Bush to come and get serious with an enforcement first policy toward illegal immigration rather than a campaign. I think let's govern first and then let the voters decide about a campaign."
But Imus suggested to Hayworth that he "wasn't even coming close to answer my question." "Would you just answer my question? Would you like him to come to Arizona and cut campaign commercials for you and run them on all those TV stations in Phoenix, in Tucson, in Flagstaff, in Prescott, and everywhere?" Imus asked.
"In a word, no. Not at this time," Hayworth said.
In the later statement issued by Hayworth's office, he explained: "My comment was just a realistic assessment of where the president is politically at this time, as the transcript makes clear."
"I'm going to do all I can to help the president turn things around, and I fully expect that by election time next year his troubles will be behind him," added Hayworth. "One way the president can reconnect with the American people is to drop his guest worker/amnesty plan for illegal immigrants and join us in an enforcement-first approach."

Carter's comment hit ME like a ton of bricks.
How can a former President of the US think such a thing?
You are so right - I downloaded it onto my hard drive as soon as I saw the Political Teen had it posted!
Brit Hume needs to post that blog on his "GRAPEVINE" tomorrow night...
I believe that the president's speech on Veterans Day and the Republican House reps maneuvers on Friday shows us the start of a new course. We must hope that is the case. If it is not, and the left gains control of the House, we WILL see impeachment hearings.
We've seen numerous articles alluding to this and the left is licking their chops. Republicans had better be smart and start playing offense instead of defense.
The soldier that asked to have the message relayed .. was correct
And Murtha .. A Marine voted AGAINST cutting and running
Murhta's problem is .. he is full of words .. but with his vote .. he doesn't back up those words
Translation ... Murtha was playing politics
Yes our founding fathers are rolling over in their graves when they see the likes of Robert Byrd and Kennedy in the Senate and People like Murtha in the House that don't even know what a regular job is. They have no idea how real people live because they have not lived the life of real people in several decades. Time to send their a$$es packing.
Well, Ron Reagan's (& Monica Crowley) Connected Coast to Coast is also being cancelled in 2 weeks. Ted Koppel also sent. Aron Brown fired. Just in case you missed....
Hahaha, very good!
That's one way to make sense of it.
Out of the mouth of a Capt B, a fellow Marine serving in Iraq: "Holy Crap Bat Man I could write a whole Blog entry on Sen Murtha. He came here in Iraq a couple months ago. Praising us for what a great job we did. He visited places out west like Haditha and told the Marines there we are going to let you finish what you started as I listened. He probed about requirements and gear and moral and was somewhat disappointed that we had what we needed and kept asking well what do you really need trying to find a problem. HE defiantly just pissed off a majority of the military now and has gone 180 degree from what he was saying and preaching about Finishing the job when he was face to face with us. He has been to Iraq ONCE for 3 days. Everything he is saying now is exactly the opposite of what he was saying when he was with us. He makes sound like he is a front line troop as he speaks. He is two faced and I have seen it first hand standing in front of him as he spoke to us. This is a very sad ploy by the democrats and will do nothing but hurt our troops."
-- This needed repeating
"How can a former President of the US think such a thing?"
He has contempt for an electorate that addressed his dismal performance as president. It's not that he did a bad job....America just was too stupid to know....hence why the award is more important. But your right, this is a low point ( one of many ) for Carter.
Zarqawi has already been killed numerous times over the last two years. Remember, too, we killed Saddam 3 times before we finally captured him. Those dead Arabs are sneaky and cunning. Remember how many times Arafat died before he ... died.
Just shows in his pecking order how high up his country and his service for it comes - not very high.
Timing is everything Timmy "the Large", I bet he is not late for a meal.
Give everyone a #1 rating from me because I chose to let my TV to go silent this morning. Thanks guys!
