Close, but no cigar. Hayworth to replace Kyl in 2006, and Kyl for President in 2008.

Now there you go - I second that combination!!!

Yes, what was the Murtha view of Bosnia, Kosovo, not responding to dead American soldiers being dragged through the streets and bombing empty aspirin factories?

I am convinced in my mind the RATS put him up to his Thur speech about immediately surrender.

The Senate under Frist has been an embarassement.... I can't imagine why Frist thinks any of us would vote for him to be President.

Your punch list of Rummy-wrongs is MSM propaganda.

He he he - you're right on. I love Rummy press conferences because I go away feeling so satisfied at the MSM getting their clocks cleaned. He is a master at telling them exactly where to go, and not having to use obscene language in the process!!

Very well put...and the look back at WW11 is worthwhile to think about....

There were quite a few young men and women that rushed to enlist after 9/11, just like they did after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor...

This is a great generation of young people....and, I love every single news tidbit about them and how they are doing...I think I have seen the Fallujah special on Fox about 3 times.

Although I am married to a Viet Vet...I am almost too young to remember much about the war, except having my Dad comment on the "count" every night...I avoided the news with a passion...it scared me. I had the Leave it to Beaver life...and I didn't want any "bad news" to creep into my world, doncha know.

So....I can see why Walter Cronkite had such an influence over people...this war was "different"...and they were ready to "get rid" of the awfulness off their sets..(some of them)...which ended up affecting our troops when they returned home. Of course, Kerry and his merry band of anti-war vets helped that, also.

IMMINENT THREAT

On the most recent Fox News Sunday, Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., - vice-chair of the Senate Intelligence committee, we should note - insisted (as the party line dictates) that we are in Iraq today because the Bush administration single -mindedly decided to take us there. Then host Chris Wallace played a tape of Rockefeller's own comments from October, 2002: "I do believe that Iraq poses an imminent threat, but I also believe that after September 11 that question is increasingly outdated." "Imminent threat," of course, are the dire, scare-mongering words that war critics are so desperate to assign to the pre-war speeches of George Bush, who in fact never approached such rhetorical heights.

Bush never said Saddam was an imminent threat, but Rockefeller himself did. So much for the RATS lies, and more lies, and on and on into perpetuity.

Johnnie, I know you are busy going over the thread...but it just hit me, that I don't remember reading any discussion on this thread about Rummy's remarks about Able Danger...

He said that the Pentgon has NOT found any evidence of their fore-knowledge of Mohammed Atta....but, he also said that doesn't mean it didn't exist...just that they can't find it.

That kind of squares with the testimony we have heard..that all of the documents have been destroyed...but, still...he was actually asked about it...THAT is news.

Rats are habitul liars...and have NO regard for what would happen, not only to Iraq...but, all over the world...and American,

If we were to withdraw now...or even in 2006, like they want. They also want Bush to promise not to have a "permanent base" in Iraq...

Right....like we don't have ones in South Korea, Germany, Japan, Kosovo...cmon guys, get real.

IIRC, VP Cheney is scheduled to deliver another blistering speech tomorrow, refuting the RATS lies and attempts to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I hope he incinerates the RATs and NAMES NAMES!!

Here is a story about Hayworth's contribution to the Friday night "Murtha Pull-out" vote.

Really tough week. Just tons of excellent posts. Some really though provoking exchanges. 2nd Week in a row over 1000 posts!!!

Got to award a Freeper Gold Medal of Valor to Peach and MACVSOG68 for today's work. They really stayed with it and worked their message. Do not agree with some of their conclusions and assumptions but no Freeper can disagree with there basic message. We cannot assume we won the Iraq War Arguments. Democrats have been slapped by the voters in 2002 and 2004 on this issue but voters are fickle. As Rush Limbaugh has said, Conservatives cannot stop educating just because we win an election. That was our mistake in 1994. Just because WE understand the importance of the Iraq, doesn't mean our friends/family/coworkers do. We must keep the truth on Iraq front and center and counter act the Dems lies. And as anyone who waded thur the dozens and dozens of our posts can see, while we disagree about means, we all agree about goals. Iraq will not be Vietnam redux no matter how hard the Dems try.

Honorable Mentions.

# 117 Old Sage "Crokited"

#243 ByByBill. Amazing how 5 talking Media heads are the greatest military minds since Alexander. The ABC Round table a a National treasure. All professional Military officers should be fired so these 5 can take over our defense. (Why yes, YES It was sarcasm ABC.)

PerConPat #424. The message from Democrats is always perfectly clear. They cannot keep American secure.

Chgromac #779. Break down of how Freepers are actively helping the War effort. 340. Progress in Iraq is measured in accomplishments not in the number of press releases.

Cedric #281 Democrats are now reduced to the role of Chihuahua chasing a truck.

A.Hun #112 Murtha Bio. Most interesting.

Ok, Top ten and boy was it tough to pick today Lots of people deserve recognition today.

10. BVW. #136 New comer. Keep an eye out for this Freeper. BVW posted a really thoughtful long dissertation on why prior Military Service should NOT be used as an excuse to current dishonorable behavior by people like Kerry or Murtha. A very excellent post

9. CFC_VRWC 427 was a very bad night in the habitat of the Barking Moonbat. #369 Never will see any real effective spokespeople like Rep Hayworth on Sunday shows. Media blacklists any effective Repubbies. #390 Murtha booked on MTP BEFORE Fridays vote!!!

8. Shrinikermd #89 Real debate the public should watch is the Pro vrs Anti Dems.#394. Democrats need to be hooked up to a truth detectors.

7. Sal. Where did you go? Had some excellent points. #480, Seems like the "New Tone" may be gone from Washington. #416 Amazed at our newly brave Pubbies. #325 Murtha is an example of how the Dems are stuck in the same old play book. #5, 83 Truth about Murtha #122 No matter how you spin it Friday Nite a huge Repbubbie win.

6. Fishtalk. #163 Soros "Mainstreeters" blindsided GOP this week. #528 Follow the money on Murtha.#79 "Because you can never have too much Biden". 413"If the Media talks for the American people, why did the US House not vote to cut and run"? @ 272 Why is Jimmy Carter such a fool for Tyrants? 555, 783, 372 6. Bahbah #11 A most excellent question. "Who smeared Murtha? Give me the quote". # 86 Why MTP going into hysterics about Bird Flu today? #50 Laugh of the day, Whaan Williams says he would not make a fool of himself on TV (Must not watch his TV performances) #323. Rummy manhandles Steffie. #501 You can expect all those dead Arabs in Iraq to register as Democrat voters soon. #160 Murtha's support for the military seems to consist of taking Military Contract kickbacks.# 196, 182

5. Txsleuth. #329 Sick of the News media claiming to talk for "the American people". 222 Soros showed he owns the Demo party. #382 Murtha is a walking Moveon.org cliche. #535 This week is a draw, House action merely canceled Tuesdays Senate fumble. #235 Rep Ford by his actions demonstrates himself to be a coward. # 261, 274 How Murtha's PR stunt is an attempt to immunize him from prosecution. 768 Bush seems to underestimated his enemies ability to lie to the American people. #509, 549, 543, 754, 688, 329,

4. Seattle Conservative. #787 Where did the Iraq WMDS go? Really must read article. #149 Flashback to Murtha's original Antiwar Grandstanding from May 2004!. #300 "DC is a square 10 miles by 10 miles surrounded by reality." #294 reporting on "Journalists" who scored good news given them by soldiers. #395, Real progress in Iraq vrs Media perceptions.#395, ABC shows it is a monument to the Clinton Era spin machine same old talking heads spinning the same old lies. #326, 195, 53,203,72,87

And the top 3??????

You will have to wait for snugs and the ribbons

Well, he had to want to make that speech and fuss.
I respect his past service, but he can't look at every military action like Vietnam.

I also agree that he has the right to say what he wants to, but he and the Democrats with their free speech have been emboldening terrorism and has been used as a toll of terror on Al Jazerra.
