White Supremacist Wants To Bankrupt N.Y. Town

KINGSTON, N.Y. -- A white supremacist radio talk-show host said he wants to bankrupt the city of Kingston, N.Y.

Hal Turner organized a rally Saturday that drew about 50 supporters, 100 counter demonstrators -- and as many as 200 police officers.

Turner invited the Ku Klux Klan and similar groups to help protest recent attacks on white students by black students at Kingston High School. Police have said the attacks were not motivated by race.

Turner figures the city would have to pay $100,000 in overtime for security. He said his supporters will come back "again and again" until they bankrupt Kingston.

The mayor of Kingston said race relations there are no different than in any other community.

Kingston is 60 miles south of Albany.

I'm not sure I agree with the tactic. But having said that, it's always disturbing to see a white-on-black crime portrayed as Racist Violence 100% of the time, while black-on-white crime is just a crime, with no racial component. 'Cause blacks can't be racist, ya know.

It would be good for the country to realize that it goes both ways.

That's the real lie of hate crimes. A crime is a crime is a crime. Giving special status to one group or another in the eyes of the law violates the equal protection clause. Assault is still assault regardless of the motivation behind said act. I don't know if the crimes were racially motivated, but if they were there should be no law punishing them differently than any other assault. The media will always fail to tell the real truth to foreword an agenda. It seems factions of all races hate each other and it is not exclusive to white people. The left and their mouthpiece media want us all to think bigotry and racism is an exclusively white disease.

According to a cop I know, the kid was allegedly beat up, not because he is white, but because he's a first class a-hole. The best evidence of the kid's unlikable persona is that his mommy ran to Hal Turner after the incident. Hal Turner is a neo-nazi, racist anti-semite, who runs an obscure Internet talk show/web site. The fact that his mommy even knew enough about Hal Turner to give him a call strongly suggests that she shares the same racist and anti-semite opinions and beliefs. Apparently the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, because from what I have heard around town, the kid apparently doesn't appreciate black and Jewish people either, and that he has made his views known. While that's no excuse for beating the crap out of the kid, if what I have heard is true, I can't feel sorry for him either.

EXACTLY! If a white person murders a black person - how is that more horrible than a white person killing a white person, or a black person killing a black person?

Any way you slice it, someone is dead, and someone did the killing.

What's really amazing - the biggest racists of all are the supposed "diversity-loving" liberals. They continue to use and play the race card, promote programs that keep minorities dependant on the government and on "programs".

I agree they should be applied universally if they are to exist. I just feel we already have laws making certain things illegal. When we start making laws protecting groups from each other because of "hate" you will get the law of unintended consequences applied to a lot of things. An example would be some countries in Europe as well as Canada are riding hate laws into banning the Bible because there is perceived hate against homosexuals. Laws have a habit of snowballing.

Another examp,e of wrong way around is reverse discrimination. I always object to the term "Reverse Discrimination". There is no such thing as reverse discrimination. Discrimination against white males is discrimination. Period.

but there's a difference between being targeted because you have a bulging wallet, and being targeted because of your race or sexual orientation or because you are a catholic or whatever

I would like to know what you believe the difference is and why each should be treated differently.
