Far left extremists are now using Cindy Sheehan as a cash cow. Medea Benjamin is the using Cindy Sheehan for her own benefit. Benjamin's Global Exchgange runs the Green Festivals and Code Pink. The anti-war march and Green Festival both ran the same weekend in Washington, DC. Come to DC and protest and while you are there, buy something green from Medea, if not a ticket as it were. The Green Festivals in DC and SFO brought in nearly a million dollars in exhibit booth rentals. SFO has 25,000 people at @ $15 a head, that's $375,000!!! If DC had 15,000 (a conservative estimate) then there were 40,000 people at the two events totalling $600,000. That's $1.6 million for four days. So why did people have to pay to hear Sheehan? Back in Oakland, they held a fundraiser for Sheehan, Code Pink and Global Exchange at the Grand Lake Theater. At $20 a head, they drew about 300 people. Not much in terms of bucks, but with Global Exchange and Code Pink being the same folks (Medea Benjanmin), was it fair to split the proceeds, One for Cindy, two for me as Medea Benjamin's groups did? Again this Friday, at Berkeley, the center of the free speech universe, the leftist extremists ALSO charged to hear Cindy speak. Saturday, you had to pony up perhaps $175 to hear Cindy. And Monday, Cindy will cost you $10, $5 if you're a student at UC Davis. Below are a number of internet URLs and excerpts top back up my position. http://www.globalexchange.org/getInvolved/speakers/119_events.html Sun, Sep 25 4pm GREEN FESTIVAL

Don't miss this talk by Cindy Sheehan at UC Davis on Monday, November 21!
Cindy Sheehan To Speak At UC Davis on November 21
Cindy Sheehan, the local peace activist and Gold Star
Mother who has reinvigorated the anti-war movement
throughout the country, will speak at the UC Davis
Freeborn Hall on Monday, November 21, at 7:30 pm.
When her son Casey was killed in Iraq in April 2004,
Cindy Sheehan started to rally against the war. She
began protesting in her hometown of Vacaville,
California, and eventually camped out in front of
President Bushs ranch in Crawford, Texas demanding
that he speak with her.
that her son died for. Sheehan and Camp Casey
sparked a national debate serving as the catalyst
for rallies across the country, both for and against
the war.
After the presidents vacation was cut short due to
Hurricane Katrina, Sheehan has continued to speak
out against the war and Bushs policies. Cindy
Sheehan founded Gold Star Families for Peace after
her son Casey was killed.
Hall Box office. Proceeds will go to Gold Star
Families forPeace.
Sponsors include the Unitarian Universalist Campus
Ministry, UU Peace & Justice Group, UCD Women's
Resources and Research Center, Davis Peace
Coalition, Davis Religious Community for Sanctuary
and Code Pink Women For Peace.
For information on tickets, parking and directions to
Freeborn Hall, call (530) 752-1915.
Cindy's still around? I assumed she would have REALLY cracked up by now. She's really on the edge IMHO.
Shouldn't that read "Pay per pew?"
Pew, as in charitable trust?
No, Pew as in a real stinker...
Wow- that $175. gig must have been a screamer.
This all tells me, that not only are the lefty orgs starved for cash (witness unions going into big time debt from last CA election); but that the liberals are nervous. So, this generally puts the average Joe and Jane out of the "attendance picture" at Sheehan's events. No, no... these events are for something "else", I wager. It may even be Cindy's "payoff" moment for "services rendered". Someone(s) will buy a block of tickets and not attend, I wager.

Man! You are right on the money, Honey!
I wouldn't pay this woman to sort my laundry, let alone listen to a single thing she had to say! But I love, love, love your theory of the left being starved for cash, and them paying her to finally Go Away!
Follow the money. That's always where the answers lie. Always. :)
Yes. Always. As the Bush Admin and solid leadership has reduced frivolous and exorbitant tax "hand-outs", the activist left seems to be hurting for walking/talking monies. Nope, not even going to go into Frozen International Networks monies.. and its "deleterious" effects upon the socialist propoganda machines here in the U.S.
However, not to ruin the moment, Diana.. Cindy could still be a "money or communications mule" for the liberals and their "large corporate" behind the scenes sponsorships..
Pay per Spew....
The left isn't starved for cash, they are addicted to cash. Global Exchange takes in several million dollars a year. They are just milking the Sheehan Cash Cow dry before they discard it.
and why not! Pew as in charitable trust?
But someone is!!!!
is this just NOT a total waste of system resources?
Worldwide, they take in that much cash?
