Ahhhhhhhh yes...the softer side of Sears. Upon my trip to the retail "giant" I walk by and notice the price of the Christmas Trees they were pushing...but oh...what is this? They are not called Christmas Trees...nope.

They are not called Holiday Trees...nope.

They are not called Festive Trees...nope.

They are called......................

Per John Gibson, it is technically a Wishes Come True Tree.

Seems they have a choice. Either offend all the people who don't celebrate Christmas (and in that case, why are they shopping for gifts at Sears this time of year?) or else offend Christians. Clearly, they chose to offend Christians. I won't be shopping there this year.

"Is that a parody or for real?"

The Doughboy is from a photoshop contest on Fark.com

the story about Coke canceling their Santa for the first time in 75 years for politcal correctness is, sadly, true.

You are technically correct....but the price tag called it a wishing tree...which made me LOL in the store.

Gifts should be given on New Years, Christmas is a CHRISTIAN family holiday not a bunch of commericalized hoopla crap that it has turned in to: where the meaning of Christmas is a car trunk full of chinese crap with no room in it for Christ or His Love.

As in, we're wishing that you people will take the hint and start your shopping early. Which, of course, you didn't even normally do when we put up the Christmas decorations promptly in time for Thanksgiving. But we can still wish, can't we?

I don't get it. How many non-Christians buy a tree at this time of year? Not many, probably. Why don't they just call them Christmas trees because that's why they are purchased. If they want, they could have some "other" trees for non-Christmas folks.

It's like a wish sandwich. You have two pieces of bread and you wish you had some meat. Bow! Bow! Bow!

Is that to go along with the "Wish Book" they've been sending every Christmas for years?

Walk in, find the manager, and tell him you came for a Christmas Tree but can only find Wishing Trees. Ask him why they don't carry Christmas Trees instead - there's probably more money in it.

The paganization of America.

Just think, at the mall near me, parents can drop their kids off at the theater to get a mind full of Harry Potter rot while they pick out a nice Wishing tree for this year's X-mas.
