Depp and Paradis moved to France to bring up their children because he said LA was too violent. Has he become disenchanted after the recent riots and curfews that spread out from Paris? "It's insane that setting cars on fire is the new strike. It takes a lot away. I'm sure it'll clear up to a certain degree, but now we are based back in LA because I have work here. I went there [to France] to live because it seemed so simple. Now it's anything but. I don't know how they'll recover from this."
You said it. This attitude on display here is ridiculous. Johnny's apparent politics make don’t spit of difference. The fact of the matter is that he’s a suave dude and a pretty fine actor. He was great in Pirates and Chocalate (sp?) I haven’t seen him on tour with Springsteen or anything. Give the guy a break. Maybe he’s having an awakening.
If it was really the violence he was worried about maybe I would believe him if he had moved to North Dakota.
As if the guy couldn't find anywhere else to live in the United States other than L.A.
He mush assimilate to Muslim culture in France or OFF WITH HIS HEAD.

Hey, Johnny, try coming here to Texas. I've lived in various places, too, but I came back home to Texas because absolutely anyone anywhere at any time, including me, might be packing heat. I know that, and so do any potential criminals. That's why of all the places I've lived, this is where I feel the safest: because this is where the law-abiding people have the most guns.

First of all, Mr. D, you are PART of the problem of a gutter culture coming from Hollywood. Or is it just 'everybody else' who's making trash stuff in H'wood? At least we haven't lost our soul and heart, like France. And if you look, I bet you could find a worthy baguette here.
There's little chance a European as rich as Depp paid enough attention to the proles to know what the riots are all about, but if he's coming home, maybe there's hope for him.
As for boycotts, you know, on the one hand you have actual America haters like Jane Fonda, and on the other hand you have mere idiots. Boycott all the idiots and you're not only writing off popular culture, you're writing off culture culture. That's further than I'm willing to go.
Pick a lane and drive, wuss.

Depp would probably be a great guy to hang around except you could *never* talk about politics (or environmentalism, religion, etc). I suppose you could talk about his cheesepuffs if you had had enough wine..
Oh no! Some of our exported fruitcase weirdos might decide to come back - even the evil Bush can't keep them from returning. Please, can't some enlightened country let them in so they can be appreciated for their brilliance? Maybe Denmark or the Netherlands? Maybe Cuba!! That's the ticket. Send them to Cuba.
