[Hollywood star JOHNNY DEPP is so shocked by the riots raging through France, he's considering abandoning his home in the country.]
Depp and Paradis moved to France to bring up their children because he said LA was too violent. Has he become disenchanted after the recent riots and curfews that spread out from Paris? "It's insane that setting cars on fire is the new strike. It takes a lot away. I'm sure it'll clear up to a certain degree, but now we are based back in LA because I have work here. I went there [to France] to live because it seemed so simple. Now it's anything but. I don't know how they'll recover from this."
I gotta tell you, I'm enjoying the hell out of this.
Great actor but dumb as a box of rocks.
Ha ha ha!
His comments are what I'd expect from some self obsessed idiot who plays dress up everyday.
He's a weirdo, a White Mikey Jackson.
At least it wasn't all for nothing...Johnny did learn the French 'cut and run' maneuver.
I wonder how Johnny's doing on the 'White Flag Flying' technique?
Cleaver was a Conservative Republican activist by the '80s, too !
I think he gets fashion tips from Diane Keaton. He's so quirky and cool. (rolling eyes)
More cars were set afire in Paris over the last week than were set afire in Baghdad during the same time period.
LOL!
ACTOR minus SCRIPT equals INCOHERENCE
Cuba.
:-) Well, I guess there would be fewer riots.
Tant pis..C'est dommage..que fromage..
Nam Vet
I seem to remember that he once stated that if his kids ever asked him about trying marijuana, he would go out and buy it for them so they can experiment. No b.s.
This is why I refuse to see any Johnny Depp movies. No "Pirates of the Caribbean", no "Charlie & the Chocolate Factory" (which was done by Tim Burton who sucks anyway)...
Hitch is/was my favorite directer.
Depp said something really lousy about the U.S. a while back. I can't remember what it was, but I do remember that he apologized. With that said, don't come back here Johnny.
Can we burn some cars in hollyweird so he'll move to his buddy Castro's paradise?
for some reason Depp doesn't get under my skin like Sean Penn for instance
or Altman or Sarandon or Speilberg
"I've never seen a single movie he was in and have no intention of spending one nickle to do so. If our guys can make sacrifices in Iraq I think we on the homefront can do the same. None of my money will give aid and comfort to the America haters."
Well, then you are one who probably never goes to any movies, as most of the stars in them are liberals. You can count on one hand the conservative actors in Hollywood, although I'm sure there are closet Pubs, but they keep their traps shut if they want to work. Each to their own, but I like movies as probably do most Freepers, and sometimes you have to hold your nose as to the politics of the stars when going to the movies.
What I won't go to are overtly themed political movies that are blatantly biased in point of view. Such as just about any movie directed by Oliver Stone. Or, of course, any movies (if you want to call them that) by Michael Moore.
Even the old movies so many of us love had liberal/socialist/communist stars such as Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, and a bunch of others. I like good movies, and I just grit my teeth and separate the wheat from the chaff when going to them. Separating the politics of the stars from the acting job they do. You'd have to just about give up all arts if you base your approval of them on the politics of the individuals involved. No musicals, plays, opera, art, literature, as most of these fields are littered with the liberal mindset.
Besides which, we are still a democracy, and as much as we politically dislike the opposition, there wouldn't be a democracy without them. It would be a very boring world if everyone thought exactly alike. Look at the FR website. Supposedly we are all conservatives, but look at all the arguments that ensue here. Even conservatives come in all varieties. So, each to their own, and those that really get on my nerves I will go after or shun, based on my own viewpoint, and of course you will do the same.
I don't get it. Didn't the MSM tell us that 100 burned cars a night is normal? So it only took 200-500 cars a night to push Johnny over the edge?
