Republican lawmakers say that ties between Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) and his brother's lobbying firm, KSA Consulting, may warrant investigation by the House ethics committee...
According to a June 13 article in The Los Angeles Times, the fiscal 2005 defense appropriations bill included more than $20 million in funding for at least 10 companies for whom KSA lobbied. Carmen Scialabba, a longtime Murtha aide, works at KSA as well.
KSA directly lobbied Murtha's office on behalf of seven companies, and a Murtha aide told a defense contractor that it should retain KSA to represent it, according to the LA Times.
In early 2004, Murtha reportedly leaned on U.S. Navy officials to sign a contract to transfer the Hunters Point Shipyard to the city of San Francisco, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. A company called Lennar Inc. had right to the land, and Laurence Pelosi, nephew to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), was an executive with the firm at that time.
Murtha also inserted earmarks in defense bills that steered millions of dollars in federal research funds toward companies owned by children of fellow Pennsylvania Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D).

Finally hitting back.
Whoa, there's Republicans in Pennsylvania? When did this happen?
With a cluster! The Dems will go ape!
Careful. Stupid is not the same thing as unethical.
I want a frog-march.
Good! The Dems have taken decency for weakness for 5 yrs now and have done nothing but become more and more evil and more and more partisan. Time to change the scenario.
Dittos!
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my miscellaneous ping list.
It is appropriate to refer this to the ethics committee for review. That is what they are there for, to review possible ethics issues to either clear the target, or find them in violation.
Certainly the information in the LA times is enough to warrent a look-see by the ethics committee.
The timing of an investigation now may not bode well for our side. The dems are trying to convince the nation that if you disagree with the Admin. policy they will go after you.
heee heee heee playing hardball!!!!
I'll have you know that there are at least three Republicans in Pennsylvania! Unfortunately two are RINOS.
Must be a difficult thing to do considering so far there is no one under investigation except other Republicans.
I want 250 frog marches which, curiously, corresponds to the number of Dumbocrats in the House and Senate.
Greg
The timing is perfect. We have documented here nearly a decade of crimes by the Democrats in real-time. They have been getting away with this kind of thing constantly. They have escalated to political prosecutions of high-ranking members of both the executive and the legislative branch, and the effective equivalent in the judiciary's confirmation circus for far longer.
Now we have another product of Vietnam Derangement Syndrome proposing that we satisfy our enemy's current top objective - pull out of Iraq - on the back of a years-long propaganda campaign intended from the beginning to produce just this particular bit of treason. This is as good a moment to fight back as there will ever be.
Not may, do it.
Oh. And 250 indictments too. Gotta adhere to due process even when the perps are despicable traitors.
