This is the closing bit from Murth's website: Because we in Congress are charged with sending our sons and daughters into battle, it is our responsibility, our OBLIGATION to speak out for them. That’s why I am speaking out. Our military has done everything that has been asked of them, the U.S. can not accomplish anything further in Iraq militarily. IT IS TIME TO BRING THEM HOME.

Yes.
St.Chuck's post 7415 claims that the Dems never said there should be an immediate withdrawl from Iraq.
Umm.. Murtha said repeatedly for there to be an immediate withdrawl from Iraq.

So it is baffling that he is endorsing the policy positions of Michael Moore and the extreme liberal wing of the Democratic party

Sounds as if they are finally taking messages from the engine room.

Have you served as a Marine? Do you know what Semper Fi means... I know you do. Do you believe in social justice, if so to what extent.

Show yourself and say what you really mean or go to confession.

Words are living, breathing things. What the honorable Mr. Murtha said over an hour ago could, and probably does, mean something entirely different by now.

Unlike trolls that come over here, we post facts over there in an... how would someone say on this thread... a more nuanced fashion... more palatable so they don't even realize they're thinking.

Well how about this for a good definition of the end goal.

When more than 3 months can go by without a single car bomb or American GI getting blown to bits by an IED. When the people of Iraq can apply for a job with the police and military without being shot and blown up while waiting in line to fill out an app. When they can vote and walk to school or the grocery store without fearing for their lives.

Oh, and of course your response will be, "yeah, that sounds good, but what's the plan? How do we do this?"

Simple, Make it clear that we are going NOWHERE until these conditions are met. If it takes 1 year or 10, the terrorists will loose and we will keep killing them until they are all dead if that's what it takes.

Talk of wanting a time table and pulling troops out does nothing but extend the process by emboldening the enemy. The only thing they need to know is that if they fight against a free Iraq they will die.

It doesn't take a rocket scientists to figure this out. Do you really need the President to tell you these things?

Yes, that was a typo...rand = REAL.

I think that most of his constituents have no idea how he votes and only vote for him now, because they recognize his name and it has an "R" next to it. If they really knew his record, they wouldn't vote for him; especially of someone who was a real Conservative ran against him in a primary and laid it all out.

What do they get from him being in the House? NOTHING!

That is such a odd thread. One post on it says the dems "won" because the vote to have the vote on Hunter's resolution was so close, and some Republicans voted against having the vote. Seems they're focusing on the wrong issue; who cares who voted to have the vote, when they all voted against the resolution to cut and run? Or maybe it's just late and I'm not understanding the "nuances" of the Kos thread.

It wasn't Mr. Murtha's resolution

Murtha the Mouth said, "Bring 'em home now." The Republicans proposed a resolution that said, "Bring 'em home now, yea or nay?"

How was that not Murtha's resolution?

See 7641. Murtha said, "It's time to bring the troops home. "

All the newspapers said he was calling for an "Immediate Withdrawl"... I did't see Patriot Murtha call a news conference to set the record straight did you?

He meant cut and run ASAP... to say otherwise is to try to lessen the blow they were dealt tonight.

Oh yeah, today is now Saturday, and what Mr. Murtha and the Dems said was only for Friday.
But wait a bit, and their statements may be true for Sunday..

Weldon's tone tonight was puzzling to say the least. I would like a transcript of it myself because of his statement today on his website.

I am glad I am not in his state, let alone district. Murtha does not speak for me or anyone else I know. I had to leave my TDY suit tonight and walk to a bar in Huntsville, AL to get a bite to eat and drink until the vote was over (after I had called 3 reps from my home state...I've never called a political leader in my life till tonight). Happily, these traitorous dems realized the polls against the President were rigged and know what their constituents really feel. Now we have yet another vote of support to continue our wildly successful mission in the WoT. Now if only the media would get the hint and start reporting the truth... Which would mean leaving their cozy hotel and going out with the US Troops.

I won't hold my breath on that last statement.
