Guests and topics on today's Tony Snow Show include:

A Really Bad Idea Rep. John Murtha (R-PA) has caused a stir by saying that his military experience leads him to believe that immediate troop withdrawal would be great for Iraq. House Armed Services Chair Duncan Hunter (R-PA) will tell us why that's a really, really bad idea.

Time to Testify 202 members of Congress have signed a letter to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, asking to allow members of Able Danger to testify before Congress. House Homeland Security Chair Peter King (R-NY) talks about why his signature's on it.

Build That Wall The US-Mexican border is a hotbed of crime and corruption. Is it time to build a wall separating the two countries?

If you’d like on or off the Tony Snow Show ping list, please post a request. All requests happily honored.

"Woof" is used in broadcasting to say "stop," "that's enough" or to mark a specific point in time -- which is what is done in this case. "Tony's show starts in 3 minutes: WOOF!" Means in 3 minutes from-- NOW!

First of all, I am the last one who would want to smear a former Marine... when he acts like a Marine, that is.

Repeats what he DID say last May... with Pelosi:

The "NO" Vote - Peterson, Murtha Screw Our Soldiers
http://www.seamuspress.com/archives/rep_john_murtha/

Excerpt:
Peterson wasn't the only Pennsylvania legislator opposed to the pay raise for soldiers. Murtha (D) not only voted against it but he also argued against it on the floor. Murtha also voted to raise his own pay (but didn't even bother to change it afterwards). I suppose that adding to their individual wealth is more important to them than helping out the soldiers they put at risk (remember both of these hypocrits supported the war).

I find his decision interesting (not just because he gave it with Pelosi either); Check out who his top contributors have been, then go to top industries and to the 2005-2006 profile:

http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/allcontrib.asp?CID=N00001408

From Murtha's website:

Congressman Murtha has worked hard to bring thousands of long-term, family-sustaining jobs to Western Pennsylvania. With the disappearance of the coal and steel jobs that for more than a century were the lifeblood of the area, he pushed the region in a new direction, intent on diversifying the economy to help insulate it from future shocks. In the early 1990s, new companies in an industry unfamiliar in Western Pennsylvania - defense - began to spring up, bringing more than 5,000 jobs to the district he represents. He founded the House Steel Caucus and has brought millions of dollars to the United Mine Workers to retrain displaced miners and train new miners.

The above is from his web site. He represents the defeated, rotting industrial heart of Pennsylvania. Losing is an attitude. What pet pork project did his district not get? There has to be something really interesting to this flip flop. (From another thread)

We have a chance to break the terrible perception that the US will pull out at the first hardship. Viet Nam and subsequent endeavors left that impression and it has caused us grief for years. We made a commitment and we have to honor it. We definitely can not leave before Iraq can defend/sustain itself. And we ought not to leave before Sadam has been executed.

This sad situation has resulted from anti-military groups and unprincipled Democrats getting sympathetic coverage from our anti-war press.

I know a Marine who was in Fallujah last Christmas and a VNV who was told to change into civilian clothes before he left the plane when he returned home, for his own safety.

NEVER AGAIN!

I will work so our troops can be proud to wear their uniforms in the US without fear of harm!

Fitz said "nothing has changed" and he is going to pursue his allegations against Libby. Nothing has changed! How about the whole bases for his indictment of Libby, who he claimed was the "first" person to out Plame. [This of course after dancing around the fact that Plame was not outed!]

Wonder if you can be indicted for lying at a press conference?

I have no problem saying that Murtha caused the death of 73 Iraqis! Murtha needs to be tried for murder!

I understand your anger Peach, but this isn't 1973 and the MSM no longer controls all media flow. We have the Internet and the new media to confront this problem.

We are in a much better position today to stop this. The left isn't doing anything I haven't expected from them, they always attack from the gutter.

What we need to fix is the representation in Congress, it isn't enough to just vote Republican, we need to elect the right Republicans.

Its business as usual in Washington, they live in a different world inside the beltway and until we make them understand the world has changed it will not stop.

This country is still under the spell of Political Correctness and a biased MSM doing everything it can to bring down this president including forging documents to rooting for the enemy.

People want to jump ship on the president because of Harriett Meir's, Katrina, the border, etc. but unless he has the support of his party to back him up he is severely handicapped. The president hasn't a chance to lead us in the direction we wish to go if Congress is stabbing him in the back.

Social Security fell on its face because Republicans didn't get behind him on the issue and Democrats just spread their propaganda until the issued died.

If the soldiers are getting the wrong message then the left is winning, we need to find a way to get the message we support them out and make them understand that most of what they hear is political and doesn't represent the average Americans point of view.

I think Rush has taken the idea of a caller and he is running with it. The adopt a soldier idea is great, and anyone who can obtain the words of Rush and understand what he is saying will be able to put what is happening here in the states into perspective.

As far as the traitorous politicians who are undermining the war, we need to attack without mercy until the back off, the president and vice president have already started, let's back them up.

The polls on the presidents low popularity is part lies by the Liberal media outlets that conduct them and part successful propaganda by the left asking questions to those who don't know any better what is happening.

We must fight back, we cannot give up, we can do this.
