And someone might want to remind Democrats, yet again, that Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman were not military veterans, so they can shove the "Cheney Chickenhawk" bluster up there where the sun don't shine - which is, coincidentally, where their brains lie.
I believe that you can add Charlie Rangle and former senator Chaffee (Lincoln Chafee's father) to the list as well. Both are despicable.

While I would agree with you on this, as an ex Coast Guard officer, there is being a member of the military, and then there is being a Marine.
Were I not an American, the most frightening thing I could ever countenance was being in a foxhole somewhere with a gun and hear somebody shout, "Here comes the United States Marine Corps!" At that point, you should either surrender, or get right with your Moon God, or whatever totem you worship, because you are going to die.
Even when unbelievably outnumbered, they win.
To see this sort of behavior out of people that have internalized the importance of the American Fighting Soldier to our American Way of Life, and the toll in blood that must be paid to sustain that Way of Life leaves one speechless.
More importantly, the US Marine, of any other type of soldier ever trained anywhere, internalizes the precepts of stamina and determination in the face of overwhelming odds.
Oswald, if indeed he did kill Kennedy, hit him twice with three shots in a moving vehicle through trees within seven seconds. That embodies all of the finest traditions of the US Marine, save for the fact that he was clearly out of his mind. Determination, skill, lethality - exemplar of what one Marine can do with his rifle in the face of overwhelming obstacles.
Murtha, on the other hand and in my opinion, did something far worse than assassinate a president. He gave aid and comfort to a determined enemy in a war we didn't start. He signaled our willingness to surrender to their way of life. He basically determined for everyone on the battlefield, and everyone here at home that dhimmitude and submission to domestic acts of terrorism is not as bad as losing servicemen and women in battle in Iraq.
What is actually required here is the saturation bombing of strategic facilities in Iran and Syria, and we won't do that because the Media is doing what the enemy in the field cannot - destroy our will to defend this nation.
