As a side note, Truman hated the Marines and Kennedy praised them. LBJ used them whenever he wanted a minor "victory" but they suffered many casualties before the RATs in Congress cut off the funds to the troops and then we lost the VN war we were winning. The Clintons and the Carters hate all military including the Marines. Reagan celebrated the Marines. Bush does too. Semper Fi to all faithful Marines! (and a salute to my brave brother who was a Marine for 27 years).
