Yes, but look at all the articles about it. Please note how many times the authors emphasize Murtha's expertise on defense issues, military service, senior status in Congress, etc. This is a public relations ploy to try and win support for withdrawal. Don't the cut and run crowd consider the repercussions? Don't they know how irresponible they are? Don't they know they are literally giving our enemies hope???? I only hope they haven't thought through the results of a withdrawal, because if they have, they are selling out our allies and future American lives for short-term political gain.
Shoot, I really didn't want us to attack Iraq in the first place either, but I'm 100% for staying the course now. Anything less than total victory is unacceptable when you are fighting a war. It doesn't take a genius to know our enemies are committed even to the point of sacrificing their lives. We, in turn, must not show any weakness.

It's been this way for decades (since the 60's?). The socialists want to run this country. The Klintons, Kerry, Kennedy and the socialist Dems are all about surrendering to our enemies and the defeat of America as a superpower.
It IS time that we rally our forces against these traitors. We better do it now (or never) before it's too damned late. I'll say it again. If they can get away with this CRAP while we control all three branches, what the hell are they going to pull if/when they ever regain one or more branches of government? Socialists have taken over our schools/colleges, our media, and the unions that have power over our transportation and communication in this country. What are we waiting for? For them to take over our military too???
"Unfortunately we have two enemies in this war. The Islamo-fascist terrorists and the defeatist Democrats. We need to take the long view and be strong. We can win in Iraq by giving the Iraqis time to take over from us."

John Murtha is a Clinton-Heinz-Kerry do-boy.
To: GunnyBob
Gunny, I'll make you an offer - I forget Murtha was ever a Marine and you forget Kerry was ever a Naval officer. Deal?

Murtha, like Hackworth, was a combat stud in his day. And, like Hackworth, I strongly suspect that he has gone soft in his old age. The only other possibility I can envision is that, like Goldwater, he lost his first wife and is now being kittywhipped by some young leftist pos.

That's the sad part of this whole situation, based only on what I've heard, is that Murtha did serve with honor and distinction... unlike john kerry.

Victory is at hand.
The Muslim world is rejoicing.
OBL and his sympathizers and supporters have stated long ago that America did not have the stamina to see this through and that his supporters needed to keep the faith.
Proving OBL right does nothing to stem the tide of Islamic fudamentalism - it only adds more fuel to the flame.

Winning or losing this war is not going to be done on the battlefield it will be done in the hearts and minds of the American people. Like Vietnam, our soldiers are up to the task but are we?

I think a lot has to do with the kind of people a 'leader' surrounding the leader. When it's military people the person excels as a military person. OTHO, when it's cowardly, left wingers the person excels as a cowardly left winger.
I use quotes around the word leader because I don't feel a person like this is ever a leader. They might be in a position to be in charge, but they are not leaders. Leaders believe in something and have the ability to convince those around him or her to help.
I would be surprised if this guy was ever a leader. Ollie North, OTOH, is a leader in every sense of the word.

I think Pelousy was given some information from Murtha's FBI file to make him flip. Wonder who would have such information....especially the same week the Clintons have "changed their minds" about the war and need credibility from someone with ties to the military.

re: Victory is at hand
Isn't it sad that we've reached a point in America where a mainstream political party can openly call for the military defeat of our country and is not only supported, but encouraged, by the MSM?
