NEW YORK (Reuters) - Halloween is long gone, but New Yorkers will be able from Saturday to pay to view a roomful of human cadavers, fileted limbs and dissected organs as part of a gruesome yet realistic exhibit on the human body.
On November 19, 22 whole bodies and more than 260 organs will go on display in lower Manhattan's South Street Seaport, allowing visitors to see bodies damaged by obesity, black lungs ravaged by cigarette smoke, and close-ups of the central nervous, digestive and circulatory systems.
To highlight function, one of the cadavers is in an athletic pose, holding a football.

Sh**, all they have to do is go to 42nd Street on a Saturday evening and they'll see all that and more!
"Gruesome cadavers on view at exhibit (New York)"
Democratic Party Convention?
I assume these people gave their bodies for this and their families were compensated? Anyone know?
You are exactly right.
The Science and Technology Museum in Chicago has had cut up people in it for years. I think they cut up two frozen people with a saw for the display. It was very fascinating to see how compact everything in the body really is. Of course, they used to keep it in a stairwell display so school groups had the option of seeing them or not.
I saw this exhibit when it was in Cleveland.
Really fascinating.
The sponsors of this exhibit have too much time on their hands.
I've actually seen some of this exhibit and it isn't as gruesome as one may think, it is quite scientific. All the details of veins, nerves, and organs are preserved and shown much clearer than a CT scan. Art? Probably not. Science, yes. Educational, Yes.
It was still in that stairwell when I last went (2 years ago).
Agree.
I myself may see this when I'm back in NY next week.

If they could display the souls of the New York liberals who set this up we'd all find out what "gruesome" really look like. This is demonic, and it reveals just how deep into the 'culture of death' our country is sinking. I can just imagine the type of people who will go pay to see this.
When the bitches pf the 60's-70's got the right to murder the innocents, I believe GOD removed his grace from the world, and now we are reaping the whirlwind.
I have seen this on the Discovery channel or some such....I find it a bit too gruesome for my tastes...I think I will pass this particular exhibit.
This article is pretty off base. I saw this exhibit when it was in San Fran. It was pretty amazing. It is a scientific display with a little sense of humor. The only thing it lacked was a more detailed explaination of the displays and a technical analysis of what was being displayed. I also think guided tours by a knowledgeable medical professional would have been great. I was lucky to peruse part of the display with a doctor there with his family.
