Oh man, now I have to buy an ice cream machine.
Thats why I drink it - I hate turkey! thats a joke
I can't remember if it's St. Francis or Franciscan Red Zin but it's fabulous.
Hugggs back to you Carlo and keep up the most excellent cooking.
Hah! Cute tofurkey... I never touch it..awful!
Well, glad you're not snowbound as yet. I think it's going to be a long hard winter.
Anxious to see to the photos.
OK FRiend, don't be doing that to us. Please tell me you have a hang nail and not going in for a Brain Transplant so Emeril can get some Cruise gigs...
Would you mind if several of us FReepers clicked on these links for you?
Perhaps here: Carlo's Neighborbood Store would be a good place to start.
Seriously, I had not visited Shaper Image in years. Christmas is coming up ...
{{{volley hugs}}}
Don't forget we have the our own FReepers, CLINTON LEGACY COOKBOOK that has been a real favorite for Christmas around here..ha!
Please be my guest, and visit the links to your hearts content.. I will vouch for any of the links.. we checked them out before they were permitted to link to us, and I have done business with each of them.. Have a great holiday
Never heard of that recipe before.
Sounds great.
That sounds like a refreshing cranberry sauce recipe.
I recently made whole cranberry/orange zest muffins.
Came out great.
It's that orange flavor that gives it a little zing.
ON A DIET but still want your pumpkin pie?
Usually, I follow a standard pumpkin pie recipe either
out of my old Betty Crocker cookbook or the one listed
on the can of the Libby's canned Pumpkin.
HOWEVER,
I have always substituted low-fat or non fat milk
for the condensed milk and added a little extra
sugar substitute and extra pie spices, substituted
egg substitute for real eggs and sugar substitute
(usually Splenda) in place of sugar.
One year I was out of milk all together. I just had
lite egg nog in the refrigerator. I used that and oh
does that taste good.
If it were me, I'd do a smell test. If it has an odor, do not use. I personally wouldn't use two year old oil.
Yum...stuffing...my favorite part of the meal. My Grandma and Mom have always made stuffing with eggs and lots of melted butter; my husband's family did not.
The eggs give the stuffing a more "bread pudding" consistency; much more moist.
I've gradually converted the hubby, but he likes his stuffing dry...so we cook it in a pan (instead of the turkey); he gets the dry stuff on the edge of the pan.
Thanks carlo. I didn't really know what to with it?!?
whipped whites sound like a good idea--not an uncommon technique for stuff like this. Rum, btw, is a favorite of mine. Connects with my tropical soul. What is a jungle girl doing in the north woods?
Another request: I have been searching for years for a recipe that will produce really fluffy, soft dinner rolls. When I was in college, the food service would serve with their Sunday noon meal rolls that were to die for. Very soft, not crusty. I have not been able find or duplicate that recipe. Do you have a favorite dinner roll recipe?
Thanks......
Once, I think it was about 4 years ago, I started a thread about "do you cook the stuffing inside the bird of not?"....It ran several hundred replies, and sort of started this whole Turkey day tradition...
