I was thinking time was a little tight to get everything done by Thursday!

Sheeeesh, it can still be done if your bird is thawed already.. You can still quick thaw it if you need to, but I think you would do yourself and everyone else to visit you favorite restaurant.. We did it, and some restaurants will still serve you the whole bird, and let you carve it at the table.. Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving.. ping me if you decide to tackle it.. :)

No need to brown meat, but you must cook the rice before, and you can use any kind of rice that turns your clock.. LOL

You can keep the ladels and the teaspoons. Just hand me the remote.

I hear that Sears has a remote that has a button that works the dishwasher.. Ha!

I can't answer the Juniper Berry question as we have never found them locally. They are available from Penzeys...

Some nice stuff Carlo. I'll stick to my mesquite smoked Turkey and Sourdough Bread stuffing, though. The Oven Roasted Garlic Potato looks pretty good.

Thanks!

Alton Brown swears on a stack of Cook Books that the fastest way to thaw something is to put it in a pan of ice water...

Perhaps these instructions might make carving a little easier if you're doing it before an audience:

First remove the wishbone. Then cut off the wings and remove the leg thigh joint, separate the leg from the thigh and then slice the thigh, leaving the leg whole for someone to chew on. With the turkey breast side up, make a horizontal cut at the bottom of one side of the breast from front to back. Then start carving thin slices off the breast of the bird starting at the breast bone and working downward. You can also remove the whole breast half and then slice it off the bone.

If you're carving in the privacy of your kitchen, use your hands as needed, LOL.

If you use an electric knife to slice that turkey meat, rub the blades with a touch of olive oil, it cuts the meat clean and as thin as you like, and keeps the slices apart..
