It's official, Brent Sherman's headed to the #49.
Tommy Baldwin is doing to Ray Evernham what Evernham did to Rick Hendrick; leaving to start his own team.
Just in case you didn't hear it, Rubberhead blew a 0.017 in the preliminary Breathalyzer (0.08 is considered legally intoxicated in Arizona).
The Wood/ST Motorsports team will field Bobby East and Marcus Ambrose in the Trucks, Jon Wood and Stacy Compton will be in the Busch cars, and Ken Schrader will be in the Cup car.

Derrike Cope is in the McGlynn #00, and they'll be full-time next year.
Clint Bowyer is in the RCR #07 Jack Daniel's Chevy and running for Rookie of the Year (ROTY).
Martin Truex Jr moves the DEI #1 Bass Pro Shops Chevy full-time for a ROTY run.
Kurt Busch takes over the Penske #2 Miller Lite Dodge.
Mark Martin's Swan Song, Part Deux in the Roush #6 Ford is brought to you by AAA.
Scott Riggs moves from the MB #10 to the Evernham #10 Dodge along with sponsor Valvoline.
Denny Hamlin does a ROTY run in a darkened Gibbs #11 FexEx Chevy.
Sterling Marlin has a 2-year deal in the MB-ex-V ex-#10 (no sponsor named yet), will run the #14 in honor of the late Coo Coo Marlin.
Paul Menard will run 7 races in the DEI #15 (no sponsor, but expect Menard's to be on the car) to keep his ROTY eligibility in 2007.
Chris "JJ" Yeley takes over the Gibbs #18 Interstate Batteries Chevy.
Ken Schrader will take over the Wood Brothers #21 (the laundry list of sponsors will be announced Saturday).
Somebody will be in for Scott Wimmer in the BDR #22 Catepillar Dodge (we're assuming that they'll stick with Dodge even though they're going on their 3rd season without factory support).
Jamie McMurray is headed to the team formerly run by Rubberhead and adopting the number 26 to make the break complete.
David Stremme moves into the Ganassi #40 Coors Light/Lonestar Dodge (Lonestar will take 17 races) for a ROTY run.
Target joins the youth movement with Reed Sorenson doing a ROTY run in the Ganassi #41 Dodge.
Ex-Target Casey Mears takes over the Ganassi #42 Havoline Dodge after Home123 pulled out of their sponsorship committment.
Bobby Labonte gives Petty Enterprises their best shot to win in ages as he takes over the #43 Cheerios Dodge. Meanwhile, Kyle Petty's looking for a sponsor for his #45 Dodge.
Brent Sherman picked the wrong year to make his ROTY run. Piloting the BAM #49 Schwan's/Serta Dodge doesn't with zero Cup time won't help any.
Competitive Edge Motorsports is hunting for a driver so they can take their #51 Chevy full-time next year.
Michael Waltrip takes NAPA to Bill Davis, but couldn't take the #15. Instead, he'll run the #55.
Terry Labonte will take the first 5 races (for the past-champ's provisional) and the road courses, while Tony Raines will take the other 29 races in the new-for-2006 Hall of Fame #96 TI DLP Chevy.

All of these teams, as well as any other team, will need to qualify on time, find a past champ who ran this year, or transfer points from a team in the top 30 for the first 4 races next year.

This is the last race for two of my favorites of the old school, Rusty and Ricky. I will miss them both. It is also the last race for some drivers before moving to new teams. One of these is my modern-day favorite, Bobby Labonte. I am excited to see him in the #43 next season!

I have an older sister that lives in Lexington, N.C., and a friend of hers that works at JGR emailed her these pics of Bobby's last ride in the #18 Interstate Batteries Chevy. Looks like all the employees signed the car.
