CHICAGO, Nov. 16 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Earlier today, the Federal Election Commission returned organizational documents to Draft Rudy Giuliani for President, Inc., making the campaign the first and only federal committee formed with the sole purpose of encouraging former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani to run for President of the United States in 2008.

"This is the beginning of a nationwide effort to show Mayor Giuliani the tremendous support that exists throughout the United States for a Giuliani presidential candidacy," said Allen Fore, a veteran Republican political consultant and co-founder of Draft Rudy Giuliani for President. "America needs and wants this great man to lead our nation. We're starting the grassroots effort to make a Giuliani candidacy a reality."

Recent polls -- including a survey released on November 12 by Rasmussen Reports, indicate that Giuliani is currently the favorite presidential candidate among Republican voters, leading both Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Senator John McCain.

"We are absolutely convinced that with the current climate in Washington, Rudy Giuliani would be an excellent Republican nominee," said the group's other co-founder, Nicholas Tyszka. "There hasn't been a time in recent memory when Washington has been so divisive. The great thing about Mayor Giuliani is that he has such a broad-base of appeal, even cutting across political lines. America knows Rudy Giuliani as a proven leader who has demonstrated success. That's the kind of leadership that Americans want in Washington right now."

At this website, visitors can sign a pledge encouraging Giuliani to run, volunteer to help the campaign, and make contributions that will fund a national advertising campaign.

So a left wing, gun grabbing, for the murder of unborn children, RINO wants to run on a national ticket.
I will fight against him and his ilk.
If he is forced down our throats, I will join the CP.

Great, so we get someone like John Edwards or Mark Warner instead -- because there's no way in hell Rudy Giuliani is going to win enough states outside New York to get elected.

No thanks people. I have a feeling Rupert Murdoch or the Main Street Partnership are behind this. Giuliani has alot of wealthy backers who want to take the party to the Left on several issues.

I love Giuliani, but I don't think he's a good candidate for President - not on the GOP line, at least. He's a) pro-abortion, b) pro-homosexual, and c) pro-illegal alien, all unacceptable positions for the GOP party leader.

I don't have any problems with Guiliani running for President - as long as he runs as a Democrat.

Let's become Democrats so we can defeat the Democrats!

Anti-gun, tax-and-spend, pro-baby killer Rudy! Perfect for the herds of RINO supporters we see here on FR!

Count me out.
