Promised to do some trainblogging and am catching up on a deluge of e-mail. Several readers sent this disturbing story yesterday of a Brigham Young University professor named Steven Jones who believes that 9/11 was an inside job and that bombs, not the Islamist hijackers, are to blame for obliterating the Twin Towers and all of the innocent people inside them.
"It is quite plausible that explosives were pre-planted in all three buildings and set off after the two plane crashes which were actually a diversion tactic," he writes. "Muslims are (probably) not to blame for bringing down the WTC buildings after all," Jones writes. Popular Mechanics debunks the tinfoilers' claims here. No matter. Jones insists:
The 'symmetry data' emphasized here, along with other data, provide strong evidence for an 'inside' job." Who the shadowy "insiders" are, Jones won't say. Look for Jones to be hired as a script consultant for Oliver Stone's 9/11 movie any day now.

"Muslims are (probably) not to blame for bringing down the WTC buildings after all," Jones writes. The illogic of this is if his point "the Muslims where framed" then you just frame them for these "pre-planted explosives" too that Jones contends were there... my point being that any conspiracy that are out to " frame the Muslims" would have no need to cover up "pre-planted explosives" if in fact they were there... it's just as easy to "frame the Muslims for the planes at to pre-planted explosives"

This really makes me mad. I go to Utah Valley State as an internet student, and my very liberal tech writing instructor has bent over backwards to be fairminded with the class. One of the things that impresses me about UVSC, is the Mormon upringing. This translates to a higher rate of conservatism, not much, but enough to where I havent felt like I was in Berkeley when Im at the campus. When Michael Moore spoke there last year, even though it was sold out, there were an equal amount of protestors outside. Liberal professors are a major part of why this country is headed down the wrong road..

Would it be appropriate to ask what color Mr. Jones is... ?Not sure I understand what relevance color has to being an idiot, but I would point out that he teaches at BYU. Not to suggest they don't have any faculty of color, but the overwhelming odds are that he's white. Again, though, what difference does color make?

November 2nd, 2005, World Can't Wait rally:
Moonbat: You know, it was us that blew up the World Trade Center.
\/\/ayne: What, you and your buddies?
Moonbat: No, it was President Bush!
\/\/ayne: You mean the President sneaked in there and turned on giant magnets that sucked in the airplanes?
Moonbat: No, they planted explosives in the buildings. The physics show it is impossible for the buildings to fall the way they did from airliners hitting them.
\/\/ayne: Are you a physicist?
Moonbat: I'm a graduate student in Mechanical Engineering.
\/\/ayne: I see. So how did President Bush get all those explosives past the guards? By pulling Presidential rank? Wouldn't people notice?
Moonbat: Not him, the people he controls!
\/\/ayne: You mean he controls their actions with implantable microchips and some kind of joystick device or something?
Moonbat: No, no, no!!! (very excited)
\/\/ayne: Oh, you mean federal employees trained in explosives like FBI or BATF agents were ordered to blow up the building?
Moonbat: Yes. (calms down)
\/\/ayne: Do you really think that if an FBI agent or a group of federal employees were ordered to blow up the World Trade Center they would do it?
Moonbat: Yes.
\/\/ayne: I don't buy it.
(Later I had the thought that even if explosives were planted before the jetliners hit the building why wouldn't Muslim terrorists be the ones that planted them?)

Again, though, what difference does color make?A lot, not subscribing to the "Emperor has no clothes" club.
This is the rare animal; usually a statement this absurd is allowed only from certain protected classes.
Yes, I know, dummassness knows no color, but the wide publicity that sometimes results certainly does. In my experience.
