Promised to do some trainblogging and am catching up on a deluge of e-mail. Several readers sent this disturbing story yesterday of a Brigham Young University professor named Steven Jones who believes that 9/11 was an inside job and that bombs, not the Islamist hijackers, are to blame for obliterating the Twin Towers and all of the innocent people inside them.

"It is quite plausible that explosives were pre-planted in all three buildings and set off after the two plane crashes — which were actually a diversion tactic," he writes. "Muslims are (probably) not to blame for bringing down the WTC buildings after all," Jones writes. Popular Mechanics debunks the tinfoilers' claims here. No matter. Jones insists:

The 'symmetry data' emphasized here, along with other data, provide strong evidence for an 'inside' job." Who the shadowy "insiders" are, Jones won't say. Look for Jones to be hired as a script consultant for Oliver Stone's 9/11 movie any day now.

This BYU professor is also the guy who gave the name to 'Cold Fusion' and insisted that he invented it and not the other guys from the competing Utah university down the road a piece. When 'Cold Fusion' was, of course, proven to be non-reproducible he pretended that he never said a word about it being his invention in the first place.

The world is still waiting on this asshole's proof of limitless free energy, but in the meantime he's trying to get the media spotlight on himself again by claiming that the WTC was command-detonated by the evil Bush regime.

Oops, there I go again attacking the messenger and not commenting on the validity of his latest fraud.

Why Indeed Did the WTC Buildings Collapse?

ABSTRACT

In writing this paper, I call for a serious investigation of the hypothesis that WTC 7 and the Twin Towers were brought down, not just by damage and fires, but through the use of pre-positioned explosives. I consider the official FEMA, NIST, and 9-11 Commission reports that fires plus damage alone caused complete collapses of all three buildings. And I present evidence for the explosive-demolition hypothesis, which is suggested by the available data, testable and falsifiable, and yet has not been analyzed in any of the reports funded by the US government.

Blah, blah, blah..... Bush did it... blah, blah, blah ... the joooooos were involved too... blah, blah, blah....
