I liked Rummy's staement today. He said he was reading a book and a quote from Churchhill was in it. "We will win this War, if the politicians will let us" PARA
Kerry's a moron.
he knows this amendment only backs up what the President is already doing.
What it DOES signify, however, is that dimwitted public relation disasters in the GOP Senate caucus were repsonding to polls in attempting to have it both ways. Endorse the Administration's current actions, but create illusion they were cracking down. Will the PR challenged Senate GOP please get in touch with members on this board for communique advice? You obviously haven't a damn clue how to play this game.
What you should have done-
A resolution "voicing Confidence in the mission and our troops and voicing to the terrorists, despite reports to the contrary, we're scehduled to have surgical spine implementations and so will stay till you're all residing warmly in Hell".
THAT'S how you support the war, Our troops and our President while keeping Dems and MSM on offensive and bucking up the American people.
I think they DROPPED me from their e-mail list. I suspect my reply on one particular day wasn't liberal enough
Most people here are focusing on Kerry. But the real culprits are Frist and the other GOP senators who support Frist's "withdrawal" resolution. They're the ones who gave Kerry this opening.
I have actually seen posts acting like the vote today was NO BIG DEAL....but, I don't agree...this is a big deal, because the Republicans (not all) just handed a victory on a silver platter...whether the amendment really makes changes is not even the point...it is the PERCEPTION.
BTW...the smart Republicans...the ones who voted NO on both stupid amendments are:
Burr
Demint
Coburn
Graham
Inhofe
Isaakson
Kyl
McCain
Sessions
Thune
Vitter
THESE senators need to hear from us to let them know how much we appreciate them.
Can these pubbies really be this dumb constantly? I don't think so ergo their strings are being pulled by the leftist/elitists.
"he can always been counted upon to "have a plan.""
Hillary's plan seems to be to let her competitors bury themselves. Smart move.
THere is nothing to say about LOSER KERRY except keep talking.
It's great for firing up the Rep base come voting time.
And John says remember to support our allies, the French.
I blame our POS RINO senators for this.
Thanks for posting the names of the GOP Senators with the brains and guts to vote against this ill-considered proposal.
Now that the Republican proposal has been exploited by the Democrats to undermine support for the war and President Bush's leadership, are you still convinced it was a great idea?
I want Sessions to run for President. :-)
I'm ashamed that Mel Martinez is my senator. Not only is he an idiot, he is an ingrate....He was the president's hand-picked candidate, and he's voted against the president's interests on several occasions.
Me too....now.
I was in Allen's corner but there have been a few votes that he has caste that have really bothered me.
Today was a chance to stand with the POTUS AND CIC, and our troops...and anyone that voted for even the Warner amendment let them down, IMHO>
John Kerry reminds me of what Wally George said about Walter Mondale during the 1984 presidential campaign.
The question was posed to Wally, "what do you thinnk of Mondale?", to which Wally replied/screamed, "He's the best man the Russians have got!".
The reply still works, just a different name.
what hole 2004 elections went pretty well no?
Nothing wrong with having a real plan if the plan is right. Besides, Republicans are far better than Democrats at planning. Democrats just move their lips and whine.
