The Bush Admin had no intentions of doing anything about the flood of illegals.
Next year, or sometime in the future, Congress has indicated they will hold hearings....someday, when they get around to it....maybe.

When you consider the number of Americans that have been murdered by illegal aliens; when you considered the number of Americans killed in auto accidents involving illegal aliens; we have probably ALREADY LOST a "few thousand American lives". But since they didn't die in as spectacular a fashion as those on September 11, 2001; this little fact slides under the radar.
I think you left out the word "elite" between thousand and Americans.
Ordinary Americans are being murdered by these folks daily and our children are regularly being raped by these good-hearted illegals. But the elites live in their gated-communities and get all the benefits of cheap labor but don't suffer the costs.
One wonders if we would be having a war on terrorism if the terrorists had just blown up a bunch of ordinary Americans in a shopping mall instead of killing a bunch of elites in the World Trade Center? I doubt the Chamber of Commerce, who apparently is the Administration's puppet master, would have thought a war on terror for the sake of us ordinary people was worth the cost.

Nah. We'll just find another country to bomb and leave the illegals here alone. Wouldn't want to hurt any feelings or mess with Democrats votes or anything.
