Bush Escalates Bitter Iraq War Debate
AP ^ | November 14, 2005 | TERENCE HUNT

President Bush escalated the bitter debate over the Iraq war on Monday, hurling back at Democratic critics the worries they once expressed that Saddam Hussein was a grave threat to the world.

"They spoke the truth then and they're speaking politics now," Bush charged.

Bush went on the attack after Democrats accused the president of manipulating and withholding some pre-war intelligence and misleading Americans about the rationale for war.

"Some Democrats who voted to authorize the use of force are now rewriting the past," Bush said. "They're playing politics with this issue and they are sending mixed signals to our troops and the enemy. That is irresponsible."

The president spoke to cheering troops at this military base at a refueling stop for Air Force One on the first leg of an eight-day journey to Japan, South Korea, China and Mongolia.

During the stopover, he also met privately with families of four slain service members.

"AP=Dirty rotten filth bags."

There was a day in Autumn of 2000, when then Governor Bush came to my town, during the national campaign. I happened to be standing in the back of a room, in a very small venue, completely surrounded by the "national press corps" trailing the presidential candidate at that time. There was one thing that is most memorable about that evening, and it is the way that those national reporters.....smelled. It was horrific. And I'm not joking.

And their little snide remarks mocking the candidate, while I stood amongst them, did nothing to endear me to them.

Don't have to be connected, I'm not but they've picked up some of the stuff I've sent before. Just E-Mail the blog address listed and direct them where to find the info.

Most of them are easily accessible. Powerlineblog.com might be interested in this sort of thing.

" this is why people like McVain and Haggle behave the way they do..."

And in this they show their true colors. NO BALLS. And for a Navy aviator and Marine to perform that way. It is like when you join the club they remove your gonads, and I don't know what they remove in case of the women.

At least McVain has in the past few days, again he was on Jim Lehher report PBS, and he insisted to questions in no un-certain terms that it was very wrong for the demorats to be coming out with lies. And he did use the word "lie" to acredit their performance. So perhaps they where waiting for a lead from the POTUS to start to make more forceful statements. Who knows more of them may start to come out of the closet and defend the administrations actions. For heaven sakes most of them voted to send our guys into Iraq.
But being political animals they are two damn timid. Can't expect them to act like Zell Miller. He had nothing to lose at that point.

I don't know what to tell them. Where would I find a transcript of the show I was watching last week at PBS? I'm not ducking the request, just not sure how to proceed. All I know is I was watching PBS evening news, and Margrete Warner was interviewing the two Senators on the issues of prisoner abuse. I don't even remember which day it was.

So my diatribes have some meat to them. It truly is a sad deal. It has been getting worse as the years go by. They will trample over anyone or anything that gets in their way.

And I bet most of them both male and female would not last two weeks at Parris Island or San Diego MCRD's.

The liberals are mewling and whining. Hit them harder.

Ask Rockefeller exactly what he "talked over" with the damned Syrians prior to the war.

Might check PBS if they have a log accessible concerning the material of the show. If not, I'd just narrow it to a concise catchy headline on your E-mail header..

Something like,

On PBS/Senator Kit Bond Smacked down Durbin for Nazi Slur

Give the details you have. Their choice if they want to follow up. Maybe shop it to a few blogs and hope one bites willing to do the research.

Yep. It's also the reason I pray for my enemies...even when I don't "feel" like it.

(The story of Jonah is never far from my mind when it comes to politics.)

Escalates ?! ?!

The appeasement wing of the isolationist democrats have FAILED TO MAKE THEIR CASE !

2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005. liberals lost 2 elections because they simply are unable to make thier case on Iraq.

I Sometimes wonder if Churchill knew about today's Demovratic Party...

Winston Churchill said of Neville Chamberlain after Munich:

"He had a choice between dishonor and war. He chose dishonor. Now he shall have war."

Re: a scurrilous 2-year campaign

Let's be clear on the time frame.

2002 The central issue in the mid-term election was the use of force in Iraq. The appeasement based isolationist dems failed to make their case and they lost at the ballot box.

2003 The whiney liberals complained while we seized Baghdad, Got Uday and Qusay, Got KSM, and got Saddam.

2004 The whiney libs moaned and complained while we removed 1.7 tons from Iraq.

2005 The appeasement isolationist liberals still don't know why they lost in 2004.

The appeasement isolationist liberals have had 4 YEARS to make their case, and they failed at every turn.

At a campaign rally here in Portland I wanted to inspire GW since he was trailing by double digits. I set a trap for the press, he called on me for a question. I asked after telling how proud I was of his handling of the economy and war, "can I get inaugaration tickets?" He cracked up and said he appreciated my optimism. This was broadcast nationally on CSPAM.

A week later the Old York Times wrote a snide article about the softball questions he was getting on his tour. You guessed it, "one of the questions in Portland OR was 'can I get inaugaration tickets?'" Across all of America, we have just begun to fight!!

They are not as smart as they think!

Pray for W and Our Troops

I think the much greater story here is that the President is on another trip to further his global agenda. These trips always cost the taxpayers a lot of $$$$$$$$$$ because of his compassionate liberal spending habits. I sure hope he didn't take the US treasury check book with him. ;o)

What is the weakness of an enemy who doesn't care about the facts because the major media is solidly on their side?

Their weakness lies in exposure of the truth. Bush should emulate Reagan and keep making news.

I don't doubt for a moment that people like Rockefeller were traipsing over to Baghdad and Damascus saying, in one way or another, "whatever you guys do here, make sure there are no WMDs lying around Iraq for Bush to find" (though we did find some in a few scattered spots)

This is why we were delayed for over a year going through the UN by the collaborators in the Democrat Party...Collaborating with Saddam against Bush.

They had almost two years to move their WMD's to Iran and Syria, or bury them in the desert.

I don't understand why we concede the point that there were no WMD's...Saddam had 500 tons of Uranium. How do they get away with saying there was no evidence that he was pursuing nukes?
