Bush Escalates Bitter Iraq War Debate
AP ^ | November 14, 2005 | TERENCE HUNT

Posted on 11/14/2005 6:19:09 PM PST by West Coast Conservative

President Bush escalated the bitter debate over the Iraq war on Monday, hurling back at Democratic critics the worries they once expressed that Saddam Hussein was a grave threat to the world.

"They spoke the truth then and they're speaking politics now," Bush charged.

Bush went on the attack after Democrats accused the president of manipulating and withholding some pre-war intelligence and misleading Americans about the rationale for war.

"Some Democrats who voted to authorize the use of force are now rewriting the past," Bush said. "They're playing politics with this issue and they are sending mixed signals to our troops and the enemy. That is irresponsible."

The president spoke to cheering troops at this military base at a refueling stop for Air Force One on the first leg of an eight-day journey to Japan, South Korea, China and Mongolia.

During the stopover, he also met privately with families of four slain service members.

AP= Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

What a loaded heading. AP would not even know how to spell integrity, let alone use it in their reporting.

I agree- I saw that tonite on Yahoo news and the first thing I thought was "wow, thats bias in its purest form. This is after months of Dems bashing Bush and somehow he is "escalating" the war of words? Bias in its purest form by the Associated Press. The Headline could have fairly read, "Bush uses Democrats own statements to defend war decision" or something more fair to the story.

What is the weakness of an enemy who doesn't care about the facts because the major media is solidly on their side?

"Amen." Semper Fi to you.

"Bond did that? Wow. I owe him an E-Mail of praise."

Yea Turbin was whinning about the Gitmo crap, and Kit could no longer take it. He started by saying look, my son is a Marine, then said, and you called our military Nazis. Turbin was caught and like any liberat, tried to talk himself out of it, and Kit came back and said no. You called them Nazis and you know you did, stop lying. Paraphrased.
After I had mentioned an hour ago, I had forgotten to send a thank you to Senator Kit Bond, so I did so. If you are not sure how to contact him, just type Senator Kit Bond in your browser URL window, it should direct you to his web site.

"Now this Jay Rockfeller guy comes out to openly admitted he told leaders in the Middle east (including Saddam?) in 2002 that the Americans are coming, shouldn't he be put on investigation for "LEAKING"?"

In times past, perp marched on his way to a summary court martial, then to the gallows.

But hey, who looks to history these days?

Like that title? Bush is escalating bitterness. When dems viciously attack the president as a liar who betrayed his country and needlessly ed 2000 American troops, they are courageously debating the issues in patriotic fashion. /sarcasm off. Nuke AP headquarters.

Thanks for relaying that. I had heard nothing about. has anyone else you know of, reported this? If not you might try contacting some of the blogs to point them in the correct direction. Just the kind of thing that should be properly singled out.

So much for "objective" journalism. They are truly scum. Pure MSM scum. This is how the MSM tries to tame all non-leftists into RINOs: if you dare to respond with facts and intelligent argument to a scurrilous 2-year campaign of grotesque lies and distortions you are "escalating a bitter.... debate"!!!!!!! Of course, the lying charlatans who have been enabled by AP and Roto-Rooters and all of the MSM are never causing or "escalating" any bitter debates, no, leftists are merely providing objective truth (HA, HA) and the rest of us are angry, bitter, easily dismissed right-wingers..... this is why people like McVain and Haggle behave the way they do, because they dread ever seeing their name in any MSM headline associating them with any angry bitter right-wingers....

I can not say, in front of my children or God, how angry this makes me.

Ted Kennedy's anti-victory, anti-American rhetoric has had me thinking the same thing.

The Rats put party before country (and this is becoming evident every day as they now claim that a conservative minority holding office by election or appointment offers no "diversity" because (s)he doesn't hold the politically correct, read LIBERAL, views to represent that minority).

They were gung ho for supporting Bill Clinton in planning for war against Saddam. Many critics on both sides of the aisle spent the 1990s complaining the Bush41 "didn't finish the job" (even though he was prevented from doing so by the UN). They even understood what was at stake, Saddam was trying to acquire really dangerous weapons (even if he was unsuccesful; we still pursue people who try to hire hitmen but are caught at it). He was limited in his arms defense by the resolution "ending" the Gulf War. He violated his probation.

Clinton, Kerry, et al ALL made the case that we did not rush to war against Saddam a second time. When they made those statements in 1997 AND Clinton said in 2003 that he knew the next administration was going to have to resolve/deal with Saddam's weapons programs, everything else is just a convenient lie to tarnish the Republican president.

I love being targeted by Trolls. I love that Trolls feel so insecure that they have to jump onto this forum.

To be singularly honored means I must have done something right. :-)

Like, defend an honorable man with the guts to take on mass murderers, as well defend the brave men and women willing to die for something greater than you and I. Maybe one day you'll understand what would motivate them to do so.

I don't doubt for a moment that people like Rockefeller were traipsing over to Baghdad and Damascus saying, in one way or another, "whatever you guys do here, make sure there are no WMDs lying around Iraq for Bush to find" (though we did find some in a few scattered spots) - I think Rockefeller and McDermott etc. were in at least tacit if not open collusion to make sure Saddam pretended to clean up his act - either they would avert the war or else they would end up having a useful cause celebre against the Bush administration. Is Rockefeller capable of such treason? Without a doubt...... his methods and outlook were spelled out in the covert memo from his staff that leaked out about using the Senate Intelligence Committee to assault the Bush WH.

"If not you might try contacting some of the blogs to point them in the correct direction. Just the kind of thing that should be properly singled out."

It was on Jim Lehers Nightly News in PBS last midweek or so. I am not very good at passing on this sort of stuff via. blog sites. I am not well connected by any means as far as contacts. And all I could do is point out in two sentences what I had observed. But what I said is on my scouts honor as being true and not trumped up.

Yeah. What did Napoleon say? "One newspaper is worth a hundred cannon." ( Can't find it with google. ) Imagine his estimation of the power of the MSM. On the face of it, it seems hopeless to oppose them. They're like a fog that blankets and obscures everything.
