It looks like the MSM is becoming more brazen about misleading their viewers. Here we have an example of Tim Russert insinuating that Colin Powell said the administration misled him and the American people.
oday, November 13, 2005 on "Meet the Press"
MR. RUSSERT: "On solid intelligence." And then 15 months later, the secretary of state came on this program and said this.
(Videotape, May 16, 2004):
SEC'Y POWELL: But it turned out that the sourcing was inaccurate and wrong, and in some cases, deliberately misleading. And for that, I am disappointed, and I regret it.
(End videotape)
MR. RUSSERT: "Deliberately misleading." That's the secretary of state. So why can't Democrats now say that the administration deliberately misled the American people?

Now, read what Secretary Powell really said:
Russert: Thank you very much, sir. In February of 2003, you put your enormous personal reputation on the line before the United Nations and said that you had solid sources for the case against Saddam Hussein. It now appears that an agent called Curveball had misled the CIA by suggesting that Saddam had trucks and trains that were delivering biological and chemical weapons. How concerned are you that some of the information you shared with the world is now inaccurate and discredited?
Powell: I'm very concerned. When I made that presentation in February 2003, it was based on the best information that the Central Intelligence Agency made available to me. We studied it carefully; we looked at the sourcing in the case of the mobile trucks and trains. There was multiple sourcing for that. Unfortunately, that multiple sourcing over time has turned out to be not accurate. And so I'm deeply disappointed. But I'm also comfortable that at the time that I made the presentation, it reflected the collective judgment, the sound judgment of the intelligence community. But it turned out that the sourcing was inaccurate and wrong and in some cases, deliberately misleading. And for that, I am disappointed and I regret it.

Wow. Talk about Spin. The MSM/LSM are masters at spinning for the DemRats. Sad part is that many Americans seem to fall for it.
FNS this morning had just such a clip they played for Jay Rockefeller. It was Rocky saying that Saddam was an imminent threat.
Or should it be.........
From the source you cite?
By the way...I sent this to Meet the Press:
Dear Mr. Russert
In today's program you said the following:
MR. RUSSERT: "Deliberately misleading." That's the secretary of state. So why can't Democrats now say that the administration deliberately misled the American people."
I urge you to look at the transcript of what the Secretary ACTUALLY said. The former Sec:
"Unfortunately, that multiple sourcing over time has turned out to be not accurate. And so I'm deeply disappointed. But I'm also comfortable that at the time that I made the presentation, it reflected the collective judgment, the sound judgment of the intelligence community"
I believe, sir, that YOU are deliberately misleading your viewers. You should apologize to the former SEcretary AND to your viewers.
Any to send this to Brent Bozell?
Tim Russert is deliberately misleading.
Better yet- Brit Hume.
Powell misled Republicans by saying he is (was) one.
that is the sad part...i see it happening over and over with the more senior citizens...the ones who are very conservative and "liked" Bush and know that "Islam" is evil...but the lies and half statements and the continual rewriting of what got us into the middle east in the first place by the dems and MSM whores is going unchecked...they all want Bush to fail...even if it means our country fails in the war on terror. to them it is just another "exciting moment in history" that they as news people can be a part of. little do they even envison that if we lose...we'll all be dead...literally!!!
He He...yes..send it to Brit and it will maybe it'll make it on the Grapevine!
I guess he thinks he's more than topped out in confiscatory ad rates....
By the way...I sent this to Meet the Press:
Link to send a letter please.
Betcha Brit will have this in his Grapevine segment tomorrow night...he usually finds these gems....
Maybe we ought to send this link to him, what do you think??
LOL!
Too late now, but you should have zinged him with a comparison to Rather/Mapes, speeding the loss of
viewers from network shows, etc, with such biased, and fraudulent "reporting/analysis".
Feel free to send another email...the more they get, the better! :)
I guess we'll have to wait and see if Colin Powell gets any air time on MTP to set the record straight.
