FIVE JOKES

November 13, 2005

We turn to France, whose decision to stay out of the Iraq war is starting to make more sense. After all, why go all the way to the Mideast when you can fight Muslims in your very own suburbs?

— JON STEWART

The streets of the suburb of Clichy-sous-Bois have been filled with angry, mostly unemployed Arab and African immigrants setting fire to hundreds of cars. Their message: We're mad as hell, and we're not going to let you park here anymore.

— STEWART

Night after night of rioting and looting and burning cars, but don't worry because the French government is working around the clock to figure out a way to blame it on us.

— DAVID LETTERMAN

The riots in France have been through their second week. No signs of slowing. Now first of all, let me congratulate the French on whatever sporting event they apparently won.

— STEPHEN COLBERT

The situation is really bad — today Chirac announced that the French are pulling out of France.

— JAY LENO

It has been a loooong time since I was familiar with the political landscape in France. What non-leftist parties are available to voters? Are there any parties that promote less government and more entrepreneurship?

"What non-leftist parties are available to voters?"

UMP (classic right side), UDF (centrist) and FN or MNR for "extrem-right". But UMP have a lot of division like MPF of De Villier (souverainist) and others but too small.

" Are there any parties that promote less government and more entrepreneurship?"

No. No real 'liberal' party.
Remember : Liberalism = Devil in France. That's a marxist country with socialist economy.

Is there any hope of introducing some liberalism in France?

France does have the ability to have a more dynamic economy, but it is hobbled by the tentacles of socialism.

It's a question of balance.

"Is that because socialism has become ingrained in the populace"

It is. Socialism is a good economy because state could adjust things who are not "social". On theory of course. That's what they think and what medias repeat day after day.
When there's is a delocalisation, it's not fault of policians but to the "patron", the chief of entreprise.
Marxist are stupid. They think that powers on the hands of a "patron" is more dangerous than on a politician. That's marxism !

"or is it because many people have limited contact with contries with liberal economic polices or both?"

USA is a "ultra-neo-liberalism" country. And USA is dangerous, they have Bush. Bush is a idiot. You understand ? Repeat after me. Bush is an idiot. He is american. Americans use liberalism economy. They make poverty on the world (and to afro-americans). Repeat after me....Have you seen the last Michael Moore movie ? Is a good guy. A good American. Kerry is the futur president (haha !)

That's french medias.

It's a question of balance.
