Welcome to FR. Hope your car is ok. I have a question that nobody seems to have an answer for. What do ordinary French people really think about Muslims?

Once upon a time in a nice little forest, there lived an orphaned bunny and an orphaned snake. By a surprising coincidence, both were blind from birth.
One day, the bunny was hopping through the forest, and the snake was slithering through the forest, when the bunny tripped over the snake and fell down. This, of course, knocked the snake about quite a bit.
"Oh, my," said the bunny, "I'm terribly sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. I've been blind since birth, so, I can't see where I'm going. In fact, since I'm also an orphan, I don't even know what I am."
"It's quite OK," replied the snake. "Actually, my story is much the same as yours. I, too, have been blind since birth, and also never knew my mother. Tell you what, maybe I could slither all over you, and work out what you are, so at least you'll have that going for you."
"Oh, that would be wonderful" replied the bunny. So the snake slithered all over the bunny, and said, "Well, you're covered with soft fur; you have really long ears; your nose twitches; and you have a soft cottony tail. I'd say that you must be a bunny rabbit."
"Oh, thank you! Thank you," cried the bunny, in obvious excitement. The bunny suggested to the snake, "Maybe I could feel you all over with my paw, and help you the same way that you've helped me."
So the bunny felt the snake all over, and remarked, "Well, you're smooth and slippery, and you have a forked tongue, no backbone and no balls. I'd say you must be French".

Since France is such a special place to live, and far better than the US of A, Johnny Depp is happy. Has he employed any of the impoverished 'youts' yet?

I'm going to take those "disgruntled youths" and shove them up... (juve hall? remote island? prison for life?)

(Stupid rioters didn't realize that you can't jump into a burned-out car to leave the neighborhood and attack other places... Now, they are trapped without transportation in their own neighborhoods. With no more cars to French-fry.)
I suppose at time like this they could use public transportation, perhaps they could even call and schedule a bus if they had a large group that needed service.

Scorecard du jour Sort of a "scorchcard" du jour. Thanks for bringing us the news the MSM fails to tell us.

Should be great for the economy of France, though. All those new cars to be sold. But then the pollution, won't the Greens turn on France???

Considering all the pollution those burning cars are generating, one would think the enviroweenies would be mad at the rioters.

Prediction: The French will claim credit for the numbers going down, even though they've done little to bring about that decrease.
-btw, instead of "du jour", I'm thinking "au jus"

In the southern town of Carpentras, a nursery school was torched and a burning car was pushed up to an old people's home, causing panic among residents.
I still dont understand why nursery schools and old folks homes are particularly favored targets. Could it be simply that they are very soft targets?

I read earlier - I wish I could recall where, but I think it was Reuters - that normally about 30 to 40 cars are burned every night in France. Woof. I'd like to verify that, too...

Timsbella -
Yes! graphs are needed. Could you post the daily counts since the start of the Francofada and let folks have a shot at graph making?
