Help us Obi Wan Delay, you are are only hope!
Beginning to realize just what smart gutter politics the judicial hit on Delay was.
Guess where you can find it. [Curt Weldon's speech on Able Danger] C-SPAN has buried that floor speech within the full day of speeches on the House floor - and it will cost you $150.00 to get a copy.
$$$$$
Very sad, and VERY typical!
Oh Man Morgan, never knew you had such sly wit!
Sorry for the misimpression. Control, no. Influence, yes.
Plus, I tried to clarify the rest in other posts. Low level, yes, senior, no. Many staff members will switch between congressmen, as opportunities arrise, within the same party. I have a relative who stayed for constitutent services, as an example. Other staff will stay on through the transition and some will remain.
My point really has been there is an institutional presence of staff members available to new congressmen in DC. As you and MNJohnnie pointed out, it's even more so for committee staff. Regardless, staff members do influence their boss and his positions, and a new congressman cannot know everything he should know for doing his job, and that staff will help him. Or her.
Doesn't hurt a bit to have Rush say nice things about Allen to help him along. Pence and Corburn would be a good guy to get out to help explain why spending restraint is a GOOD thing contrary to the Dinosaur Media demagoguery.
Our bench is SOOO deep. What do we got to do to get them OUT there???? I now, next years election
The so-called "Torricelli Principle" was implemented in 1995. The summary below will facilitate more detailed research.
Another significant blow to U.S. human intelligence-gathering stemmed from a June 1995 congressional hearing led by then-Rep. Robert Torricelli, D-NJ. Critics had accused the CIA of conspiring with the Guatemalan Army in the murder of a Guatemalan who was the husband of an American citizen. Subsequently, the then-Director of Central Intelligence, John Deutch, decreed a new policy banning agents from using "unsavory individuals" as sources. No local police department interested in successfully fighting crime would institute such a policy, but it became the rule at the CIA.The phrase "Torricelli Amendment" is incorrect in the context of modification to intelligence gathering practices.

HEY! I'm only trying to help. Besides, this is the longest I've ever stayed in this forum. All, because of my deep desire to help you out.
Nice post Tonkin!
but how will they spin this Iraqi woman's tv appearance?
######
They will ignore it and 98% of Americans will never know she existed
Nice win today!!
Nothing to apologies for Morgan! I understood you Morgan quite clearly. It is so hard to nail down just what impact the Clinton Corruption of the basic Govt infrastructure is. Pretty clear we have a CIA completely gone rouge. Got to wonder just how deep the rot is and if it was intentional or just a part of our hyper politicized post Clinton era and the PC diktats of the Federal Hiring process.
That is one VERY useful bit of data for us. Thanks for digging it up!
Gee Morgan, I see how this is. You play good cop, Rodguy plays bad cop. Just what am I suppose to confess?
I find it amazing that the Libs will call the terrorists that blow up women and children "Freedom Fighters". The "Freedom Fighters" kill innocent people for VOTING.
Doesn't this tell us something about their patriotism?
FREEDOM FIGHTERS KILL INNOCENT PEOPLE FOR Voting, attending weddings, eating lunch.....
Heck- In GA we ask voters to present ID and we are called racists.....
Maybe that's where we are going wrong...
to heck with refusing illegal immigrants, prisoners, fairy tale characters and dead people from voting-- maybe the libs would like us and want to understand us if we just blew people up.....
Oh- yeah we do blow people up- it just happens to be the terrorists instead of innocent people...
Rot is right. No secret most fed employees are Democrats. At the state level here too. Part of the problem, I'm convinced, is the federal employees union. This union has created, or made worse, the us versus them attitude for government workers and that's unhealthy, IMHO.
I read awhile back that the federal workers unions are the only thing keeping national unions as strong as they are today. This dovetails into what Rush talks about when he says we have to add big-government to big-business or big-labor. Or, that it has become tax payers versus tax money recipients, which includes workers.
THAT was said by a real freedom fighter.
The Iraqi woman's tv appearance is getting some time....sounds like she has a pretty strong family connection to AlQueda. The way these people change names & stuff, it's amazing to me that they've already got her talking!
