I think Richardson is a bigger threat than Hillary Clinton. Mrs. Clinton will never be President, no way not going to happen. She is way to polarizing. She will never get the so called moderate vote, at least not enough to get elected President.
Richardson on the other hand could grab some of the moderates that Hillary will never get ( and the ones Kerry couldn`t get a majority of either ).
He has a good demeanor and comes across as a straight shooter.
I will never vote for the guy but I think he is a very good candidate for the Democrats. He could have a shot. Plus isn`t he Hispanic. I would keep an eye on this guy.
The problem Richardson has is that he's not left wing enough to win his nomination. Right now, Dean runs that party, and it's the extreme left wing that's getting the voice. This is why Lieberman never stood a chance against Kerry, and he's (Lieb) the one democrat last year that could have hurt Bush.

My thinking on this is along the same line as yours. I know the Dems are dumb, but somewhere along the line they have to realize that a Hillary nomination is just not going to fly. Apart from trying to be the first woman(?)candidate, Hillary has too many skeletons, too much questionable history,too disliked by too many, and of course, too much Bill. If the light dawns on them that Hillary is not the one, they may well look to someone like Richardson.Then the battle for 2008 will be a little more challenging.
