Governor Ehrlich is speaking out on the identity of MD4BUSH.
The governor says the identity of the web poster will be known shortly, and the identity will confirm what he believes, MD4BUSH is a Democratic operative.
"If this thing does turn out ultimately, and we're going to find out fairly shortly that it's a set up by major Democratic operatives connected to one or more campaign, how interesting is that going to be," Ehrlich told WBAL's Stateline........."

The governor speaking about a freeper screen name and who's behind it.
Boy does this place have some clout or what ?
I bet Jim Rob had no idea just how important what he was starting would be when he launched this site....
hmm...how so??
MD4Bush Ping!
Watching and waiting. It'll be quite a moment. We'll all be hearing sphincter muscles snapping all over Maryland...
What a letdown. I listened long enough to find out the broadcast was this morning, and not a word about who was the guilty party in the thirty seconds I listened after finding out it was broadcast hours earlier.
No, it wasn't entrapment, it was a lie.
The Democratic Party operative known here as MD4Bush spread various smears against fellow Democrats...such as outing Senator Mikulski as a lesbian, racially attacking Democratic Senator Obama, as well as claiming that Mayor O'Malley was having an affair. This is important because O'Malley and MD4Bush's employer (Duncan) will face each other in next years Democratic Party primary for Maryland's governorship candidacy.
MD4Bush said these things in an attempt to bait a GOP activist, NCPAC (this is called a "false flag" operation). NCPAC (our guy) told the Dem operative to "not go there" in public posts here on FR as well as in private emails.
MD4Bush then turned those public and private emails over to the Washington Post reporter Mosk.
Mosk lied and said that GOP activist NCPAC had been spreading those rumors/scandals. Mosk identified NCPAC (the GOP activist) but hid the identity of MD4Bush (the Dem).
The Dem activist is believed to have been a Duncan dirty trickster who worked as a mole for a brief time in the O'Malley (a fellow Dem) camp. O'Malley's Democratic crew apparently figured out that MD4Bush was from their own Democratic competition...Duncan's guy.
So O'Malley's guys cut MD4Bush loose...and he returned to Duncan's employment.
MD4Bush's smear here on FR was made to look like it came from the GOP (e.g. NCPAC and the Erlich governorship)...but only because the Washington Post lied in several newspaper articles by attributing MD4Bush's slanders to our guy, NCPAC.
Had this dirty trick gone unchecked it would have hurt Duncan's Democratic primary competition (O'Malley) as well as harmed GOP Governor Ehrlich.
Instead, it's going to expose the illegal patronage being practiced by Duncan (real estate, political kickbacks, etc.), as well as nail Duncan's dirty tricks against fellow Democrats O'Malley and Mikulski in addition to their assisted (by the WaPost's Mosk) smear of GOP'er Ehrlich/NCPAC.
Ah, well. He'd best release the name on a weekday, at any rate. :)
Bump
Thank you for this summary. I have been trying to follow this MD4Bush thing, but didn't really know what was going on (time, other issues, you know...).
Good summary.
That's not exactly entrapment, especially since it wasn't a law enforcement operation, but it's 'kinda' the same.
Good summary in post 11 by Southack.
From everything I've seen on the background of the individuals likely involved, it probably wasn't Duncan people. It looks like these guys all have close ties to O'Malley. This little sting of theirs was supposed to garner enough press attention on O'malleys' announcement for Governor, and showcase the dirty tricks people were ready to play on him.
Meant to add, It also seems like this was set up to hurt both Ehrlich and potentially Duncan. All the Steves and O'doherty have long term ties to Baltimore and Annapolis, with the Archdiocese etc. This is O'malley and his wifes territory.
Great work. Thanks for the link.
What was that middle part ?
