Mosque Attack in France
The Brussels Journal ^ | 2005-11-12 13:53 | Paul Belien

It is becoming difficult to give you news about the situation in France. Apart from a minor incident involving a mosque, the media have lost interest or are complying with censorship recommendations from their editors who fear that the public would turn to the “extreme-right” if it receives correct information. Perhaps our attempt to provide information qualifies us as “extreme-right” too. To avoid legal problems our lawyers advise us to put up a warning:

Political Content Warning If you are a Socialist or a Liberal, please stop reading NOW.

In the sixteenth consecutive night of violence in France, 502 cars were set alight. Hundreds of molotov cocktails were thrown at policemen, cars and buildings, including a mosque in Carpentras in the south of the country. In Belgium’s sixth consecutive night of car torching, fifteen cars, including one truck and a bus, were damaged by fire – eight of them in Brussels. The situation in Denmark seems to be tense as well.

In both Paris and Brussels the authorities are nervous because islamist weblogs have called for demonstrations and violent protests today. The French authorities have banned all rallies and protests until Sunday evening. The Belgian authorities do not want the media to report about the weblogs. In Paris and Brussels the police are on the alert.

Meanwhile, Amnesty International has said it is “concerned” that the state of emergency in France “may lead to human rights violations” by the French police. Yesterday, one policeman was jailed and four were suspended because they had beaten up a 19-year old “youth” in a Paris suburb. The “youth” had just been released from custody for involvement in riots and had returned to taunt the officers. The beating incident was filmed by the television channel France 2. The channel is one of the French media outlets that does not want to broadcast acts of violence committed by “youths” for fear of copycat actions. The media devote a lot of attention to the beating incident. Apparently there is no fear that this will lead to copycat behaviour by frustrated policemen.

There is also considerable media attention for two molotov cocktails thrown at a mosque in the southern town of Carpentras. Though there was no material damage the French authorities have strongly condemned the attack. “This act of agression is as undignified as it is unacceptable,” Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy said. President Chirac and Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin, too, condemned the agression “with the greatest firmness” and expressed solidarity with the Muslim community of France.

Earlier this week two churches were set ablaze, but the French government did not express solidarity with the Christians of France. The Jewish community has also been advised to keep quiet about attacks on synagogues lest they attract the attention of copycats. After the attacks, the French authorities did not explicitly express solidarity with the Jews but advised them “not to publicize their fears, as such declarations could encourage rioters to attack Jews and Jewish community buildings.” Apparently, the media and the politicians are convinced that copycats are never Christians or Jews, but always Muslims. Doesn’t that attitude smack of racism?

The silence of the Left concerning these riots is deafening. They're probably confused. On the one hand, they support Chirac. On the other hand, they support the Muslim rioters. When Chirac surrenders to the Muslim rioters, the Left will probably be quite happy. Their conflict will be resolved.

One mosque for each car.
Sounds like a workable solution to me.""

I like that ratio...

Send these ungrateful creeps back to their country of origin. In the case of younger ones born in France, send whem WITH their parents back to the parents' country of origin. Right now. One way tickets.

When an insurgent army has been sufficiently trained and equipped to be sent against the enemy, careful consideration must be given to their first target. Their first target must be one that will guarantee success for the untested army, so the weakest of the enemy locations is selected, and this is called a “Confidence” target. After achieving victory over the “Confidence” target, the insurgents will consider themselves to be seasoned veterans and will then confidently attack stronger and better defended targets.

Muslim barbarian insurgents are at the gates of Western Civilization and they have just selected their first Confidence targets.

I used to think AI was a respectable organization.

I'm surprised recovery from that far into the 'Dark Zone' was even possible !

Congrats on the recovery.

since the french are too chickensh*t to protect their own homeland, it's truly turning into an islamic state..

Amen. How will France go out? Not with a bang, but with a wimper.

We were all expecting France to be fighting a civil war. Now, it looks like the country will just be handed over to the monsters so that the mayhem can commence.

What a f***** up country that is!!!

Clearly, the price of gasoline in France is not enough to have the goofballs use another medium for their expression of frustration.

Darn, what is it with these people. They protect the audacious behavior of these "youth" for their "pent-up frustration" of living in France, yet they ask the "regular people" to keep quiet about the "youth" for trying to destroy their country, churches and synogoges? (sp) Sounds too prissy and scared to me.

This is a democracy????

Better to die with a whimper and go quietly into the night, than let the right have control of the country!!!

I repeat, what a f***** up country that is!!!

I'll NEVER understand that mindset, thankfully. NEVER!

Even here, any action against a mosque would be escalated to the top of the news and would draw government condemnation and scores of race-baiting hatemongers decrying the hateful, intolerant behavior of Americans. CAIR and the other apologists would demand police protection for mosques. Muslims would be shown on TV saying they are now afraid to go outside.

A similar action against a Christian or Jewish site would merely bring hushed requests for calm and restraint, and the true nature of the crime would never be reported.

In those respects, our MSM is no better than that of France.

The Muslim Riots in France are testimony to the abject failure of the Left. They have failed to recognize or respond to the threat of militant islam whether concerning the War on Terror or France.

The Left is incapable of learning. They react by disregarding the obvious and hoping that it goes away.

If they set every mosque in France on fire, the satellite photo would look like one big Christmas tree! A very festive idea in tune with the holiday season. Perhaps they could get Christophe to help out in the massive "art" project.

Everything that happens nowadays must be made to fit on the template of something that happened between 1960 and 1975--Selma, Vietnam, Watergate, etc. Riots in France must somehow be like the Watts riots of 1965 and later similar "uprisings" (such as after the Rodney King verdict in 1992).

There was an interesting call-in program on C-SPAN this morning featuring Robert Leiken of the Nixon Center, discussing various implications of the rioting in France. Leiken seemed pretty well-informed and sensible. I can't find any re-broadcast scheduled but the morning call-in shows are usually reshown later.

I think someone ought to start a class action lawsuit and sue the oil companies for making gasoline. (major sarc)

I'm surprised we haven't seen Greenpeace ask the insurgents to use alcohol in their molotov coctails, rather than petrol, for the sake of the environment.

Nonono. It's just that the day when such morons will find someone with a knife or a sword on their doorstep just sooner. Which is fine. Things will become far clearer then, and we'll have civilization back.

And now, any western democracy.

No problem if a few cars and trucks get burnt up. That makes it easier for us frogs to Bar Hop in Gay Parie! We prefer to wave our white cheese and wine instead of the white flag.

Words fail me. If this does not prove that civilization is finished then nothing will.

The French have no choice. With their nation filled with geezers, and blue collar workers retiring at 55, there is no one else to support their pension system but the Muslims. God forbid they kick them out, cut taxes, and put a Chilean pension model in place. That would be too easy.
