O'Reilly Won't Back Down After Blasting S.F.
KCBS 5 San Francisco ^ | November 11, 2005

Posted on 11/11/2005 11:15:23 PM PST by Political Junkie Too

Conservative Broadcaster Bill O’Reilly is making no apologies for his inflammatory comments about San Francisco.

"I'm from New York,” O’Reilly said on the radio Friday. “There are dozens of people in my neighborhood, on Long Island, who are dead because of 9/11, and you people are telling me you're not going to allow military recruiting out there. Hey, it's serious, and I think you guys need a wake-up call."

O’Reilly is upset about the city’s proposition discouraging public schools from allowing military recruiters on campus. On his national radio show Tuesday, he said San Francisco should not get a nickel of federal funds.

"And if al Qaeda comes in here and blows you up, we're not going to do anything about it,” he said. “We're going to say, 'look every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower, go ahead.'"

On Friday, San Francisco Supervisor Chris Daly told CBS 5 that he is taking action against O’Reilly by introducing a resolution demanding that Fox News executives fire the conservative host.

"I was outraged," Daly said. “To green light terrorist attacks and violence shows a lot of hate, not a lot of humanity. It's un-American."

Daly says that San Francisco firefighters are livid over O’Reilly’s remarks because Coit Tower was built as a monument to their profession.

"To choose that target, given the context of bravery of New firefighters on Sept. 11th, is doubly harsh message from Bill O’Reilly,” Daly said.

Mayor Gavin Newsom says the proposition does not mean that people in San Francisco are Anti-military. He says that people just have concerns about what he calls predatory recruiting.

Wow, I was never much of an O'Reilly fan, guess I'll have to start watching his show. Excellent comments by him, I pray he never retracts them and in fact hits harder.

I ain't a fan either, but he put the hammer right on the knuckleheads this time.

I hope he goes to the Board of Stupes meeting and demands of Chris Daly why he hasn't yet retracted his commendation to corrupt British MP George Galloway for "his efforts to promote peace in Iraq."

<< if this is truly the attitude of the SF firemen's rank and file ... then it is just as selfish, arrogant, and incredibly self-centered as its city .... >>

You might need to lower your expectations.

San Fancisco's, just like every other, is after all just one more mobbed-up "public service" union.

I don't know about all the rants about O'Reilley BUT I do know that SF is about as anti-military/anti-America as they come. . .

San Francisco Shuns Retired USS Iowa

http://www.breitbart.com/news/2005/08/20/D8C3PH0G0.html

Veterans groups and history buffs had hoped that tourists in San Francisco could walk the same teak decks where sailors dodged Japanese machine-gun fire and fired 16-inch guns that helped win battles across the South Pacific.

Instead, it appears that the retired battleship is headed about 80 miles inland, to Stockton, a gritty agricultural port town on the San Joaquin River and home of California's annual asparagus festival.

But city supervisors voted 8-3 last month to oppose taking in the ship, citing local opposition to the Iraq war and the military's stance on gays, among other things.

"If I was going to commit any kind of money in recognition of war, then it should be toward peace, given what our war is in Iraq right now," Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi said.

I'd prefer Alan Keyes matched up with Colmes.

I would tune in every night for that. Keyes is best in a debate format.

Get a grip, Chris Daley. Any one who's visited Coit Tower over the past 15 years knows its become a graveyard for used condoms and needles.

On Friday, San Francisco Supervisor Chris Daly told CBS 5 that he is taking action against O’Reilly by introducing a resolution demanding that Fox News executives fire the conservative host.

Why not be brave, Chris Daly, and pass a resolution to clean-up COIT tower and pay it genuine tribute rather than whining and playing adolescent politics.

Thank you for serving, MPJackal. It does no good to in anyway countence any insult coming out of SF. Here's how it plays: SF passes "shadegrown" inits about banning both military recruiters and guns. Usually, military have and own weapons. No? So the deal here is that no one owning guns should be allowed to live in SF. SF doesn't have the cajones to outright ban guns and because they only want to bring in the Feds and Military when required. As in the recent events concerning medical marijuana clinics.

7 of them were taken over by Gangs. SF "leaders" had to call in the FBI to deal with the situation as the med pot users couldn't get to their pot at prices they could afford.

So, you see... these "shadegrown" inits.

This way both the gangs and the Feds can be used for whatever nefarious political games the SF Supes have in mind.

The differences between SoCal and NorCal are very clear. You are now living in Hellmouth Area.

"Pelosi would come out screaching"

Question: Does she come out any other way?

I am 100% behind O'Reilly on this one.

And the next time there is an earthquake in SF, and there will no doubt be one, let those anti-America granola-heads dig themselves out of it, without help from the National Guard, or any other military group. That city is a festering pustule. The weather stinks, and I'd think twice about using a restroom there, frankly.

You are cruel. Putting Colmes up against Alan Keyes is like sending someone with a whiffle bat to a gunfight.

OK, then let's pair Ann Coulter up with Michael Savage. He'd make her look liberal and sedate. And the moonbats' heads would all explode!

I'll go with Oreilly on this one.
I watched Alioto on his show and she is a left wing nut.

If they refuse to let the services recruit in the schools then they get no Federal Funds of any kind.

San Francisco is inhabited with perverted nuts.

Better yet, advertise the vast number of liberal groups, their beliefs and actions promoting all things antiMuslim in San Francisco, such as avid homosexuality, throughout the hotbeds of Islamic fundamentalism/Wahabism, along with simple methods of travel to SF and let nature take its course.

Actually, I like the variety of the Fox lineup. I don't "like" or hate any of them (exceptions for the FOX babes - real eye candy) and enjoy the differences.

All that being said, I just wish they would have a show similar to SNL's Chevy Chase making faces when some idiot reads the news or debates a point. Maybe we should have "Freeper TV" do that.

" ..if the SECDEF ..closed every military recruiting station and installation in the greater San Francisco area ... Pelosi would come out screaching..."

Actually, all Rumsfeld has to do is breathe and Pelosi screaches.

Even Arnold could not help those fools.

I'll save my anger for San Fran Freako. They deserve contempt. We're in a WORLD WAR. France got attacked just last week. And San Fran Sicko is out to lunch.
