O'Reilly Won't Back Down After Blasting S.F.

Conservative Broadcaster Bill OReilly is making no apologies for his inflammatory comments about San Francisco.
"I'm from New York, OReilly said on the radio Friday. There are dozens of people in my neighborhood, on Long Island, who are dead because of 9/11, and you people are telling me you're not going to allow military recruiting out there. Hey, it's serious, and I think you guys need a wake-up call."
OReilly is upset about the citys proposition discouraging public schools from allowing military recruiters on campus. On his national radio show Tuesday, he said San Francisco should not get a nickel of federal funds.
"And if al Qaeda comes in here and blows you up, we're not going to do anything about it, he said. We're going to say, 'look every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower, go ahead.'"
On Friday, San Francisco Supervisor Chris Daly told CBS 5 that he is taking action against OReilly by introducing a resolution demanding that Fox News executives fire the conservative host.
"I was outraged," Daly said. To green light terrorist attacks and violence shows a lot of hate, not a lot of humanity. It's un-American."
Daly says that San Francisco firefighters are livid over OReillys remarks because Coit Tower was built as a monument to their profession.
"To choose that target, given the context of bravery of New firefighters on Sept. 11th, is doubly harsh message from Bill OReilly, Daly said.
Mayor Gavin Newsom says the proposition does not mean that people in San Francisco are Anti-military. He says that people just have concerns about what he calls predatory recruiting.

KPIX 5 in San Francisco just ran this story as their 11:00PM lead .
Coit Tower, a tribute to SF firefighters from the 1906 earthquake, is supposedly in the shape of a fire hose nozzle.

Sorry. I messed up the title. It should be: O'Reilly Won't Back Down After Blasting S.F.
Can you fix?

Hey Supervisor Daly...if al Qaeda does come to SF is it OK for them to take dumps in the middle of Market Street?

I think it would be sweet if the SECDEF up and closed every military recruiting station and installation in the greater San Francisco area immediately, and say he's doing so in light of their resolution. Pelosi would come out screaching...

I can't tell you how much I hate O'Reilly. I hope he gets fired, Hannity takes over his hour and they put in someone like Ann Coulter up against Colmes. Coulter and Colmes, I love it. :)

WHAT?!?! O'Reilly admitted on air last year that he's a DEMOCRAT!
Where'd the author get the idea that he's "Conservative"??

Bwaaaahaaaahaaaa! Good luck with that firing O'Reilly attempt Mr. Daly. It has about as much chance of succeeding as Frisco's gun ban has of curbing thug violence. But I am sure you will feel better for trying. Bwaaaahaaaaahaaaaa.

Man!!! I really screwed this up. The source is KPIX, not KCBS.
I have to slow down when I post late at night.

Is it sweeps weak?
Like the old saying goes:
I don't care what they say, as long as they spell my name right.

Have to admit - he kept us all wondering there for a long time ... "is he, or isn't he"? Until he admitted it finally.
But yeah, you're right - to MSM, he is conservative I guess.

Simpler solution: Fire Colmes and O'Reilly. Let Coulter
do the factor and Hannity operate by his lonesome.

I believe that Bill O'Reilly is pro-life. He's also said that since hurricane Katrina, he's changed his mind on the second amendment - he's pro-gun. He also has integrity which liberals mistake for conservatism (c;

God I am sick of hearing this lie. I was a recruiter for 4 years and I would hardly call us predatory. We call kids and try to sell them an interview. At the interview we try to see if they would fit in the military (pre-qualify) and see if the military has a program that would benefit them. Then "they" decide if it something they are interested in. Usually we also talk to mom and dad about it(something schools don't often do). We have an all volunteer military. NO ONE has to talk to a recruiter if they don't want to. I'll bet if I went to the school and tried to educate (read recruit) the kids on being gay or lesbian the city and school board would be all for it.

I don't know about you in SF there but I have to say I like what B.O.R. said. What say you?
I think SF is totally stupid to take recruiters away. They are harmless -- sitting at their little tables. Good grief. Next SF will build a frog tunnel.
