Kimmer Attacked at the Veteran's Day Parade
Friday, November 11, 2005 5:40 PM
Longtime Atlanta talkshow host on GST 640am Kim "The Kimmer" Peterson was involved in a fight with an anti-military protestor in downtown Atlanta today during the Veteran's Day Parade.
A man holding a sign blaming President George W. Bush for 9/11 had been yelling at the Military Veterans participating in the parade on Peachtree Street. There was no incident until after the event, when The Kimmer came across the protestor and words were exchanged.
The man allegedly walked up to the host's car and tried to spit on him, at which point Peterson got out of the vehicle. The man then head-butted and attacked the host and a scuffle ensued. There were only slight injuries. The Kimmer is a Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran.
One would think that this would be obvious. Guess not! LOL
I read there were more and the bad guys left:)I agree- May He rest in peace- and if it was near me I would have been there and not very nice.
Give 'em hell Kimmer!
Sounds good!...but the way the article read, "slight injuries", made it sound like just a little pushing match;)
Hey - It's only the Kimmer!!
"You just don't spit on a United States Marine on Veteran's Day after a military parade. Supposedly he was interrupting the parade by shouting obscenties at the men in uniform."
OOooooorrrraaaahhh !!!
Amen, brother.
We had enough of that liberal hippie crap during the dark days of Vietnam. Never again!
I gotta go, you're killing me.
Send this to No Offense...from the both of us...
Hrrrrrrrrrp! Hooooooooup! Hrrrrrrrrp! Hoooah!
The Kimmer always cheers me up on my drive into work in the afternoons. He's a great guy and he has lots of fans who will stick up for him, so I hope this clown doesn't try to sue him or cause trouble for him at WGST.
Kimmer said good. I hope the bastard tries to press charges. He took the first shot with his head but and I pummeled him. Tough! LOL. He then gave the address of the station and said he would be there until 7:00.
>Does he still "Flush the Lines"? <
WGST stole that bit from Boortz and gave it to Kim.
(We could use Kim to knock out Phelps and his anti-war crowd. Here is just one of many stories on this sh*thead Phelps.)
VFW motorcycles drown out protestors

CHELSEA God spoke with the roar of revving motorcycle engines during a protest Tuesday by six members of a Kansas church that believes God is punishing the U.S. for protecting homosexuals by killing soldiers overseas.
Chelsea residents, however, believed God spoke on their behalf as the engines of more than 100 Veterans of Foreign Wars motorcycles drowned out the voices of the Westboro Baptist Church members who were allowed to protest from 1-1:30 p.m. before the 2 p.m. funeral services for Staff Sgt. John Glen Doles.
The protesters were escorted by police from the Chelsea Police Station to and from the protest site at the corner of Sixth and Vine streets a half block away. They left immediately after the protest, said Chelsea Police Chief Kenny Kelsey.
Chelseas main street was lined with American Flags in honor of Doles, who was killed when he and five others were ambushed by enemy fire last week in Afghanistan. He was laid to rest with honors in a small cemetery southeast of Chelsea.
Town and local law enforcement consisting of Chelsea police, the Rogers County Sheriffs Department and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol made good their intent that nothing would disrupt funeral services for the local hero and his family.
Chelsea Mayor Kenny Weast said he received a fax last Tuesday saying church members would be in Chelsea to protest at the funeral.
Weast contacted local law enforcement and a successful plan was devised.
Said Weast: We planned for the worst and hoped for the best.
Weasts own feelings about the protest, however resonated those of the town.
What a tragedy to have a group like this protest the day of the funeral, one of the hardest days this family will have. It makes me sick, he said.
Kelsey, Chelseas chief for six months, said neither set of protesters were allowed to cross the street and every body stuck to it.
The American Legion Riders from Southeast Kansas, which represented a number of Kansas towns and communities along with members of other organized motorcycle groups, attended the funeral to protest the protesters.
But the No. 1 reason was to show support for Staff Sgt. Doles and his family and to oppose Fred Phelps, who is the leader of the anti-homosexual group.
The bikers succeeded in keeping the protesters out of sight and sound of the Doles family but for anyone else close enough to see their brightly colored signs spoke loud and clear: GOD IS YOU OR ENEMY; GOD HATES THE USA; GOD IS AN AMERICAN TERRORIST; TOO LATE TO PRAY; THANK GOD FOR DEAD SOLDIERS; YOURE GOING TO HELL; GOD HAS SPOKEN ITS NOT A BLESSING ITS A CURSE and AMERICA IS DOOMED.
The locals had a couple of signs of their own. Three older women held up a white sheet that said SHOW AMAZING GRACE and two young people held a cardboard sign saying YE WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE.
John B. Milam, a Chelsea native, said of his feelings about the protest, I have no respect for anyone who has no respect for the dead.
Wilma Fraley said, I just think the family deserves a quiet, peaceful funeral for their hero. Thank God for the (local) people coming out to do this (show their support).
At the cemetery, which was void of protesters, Doles team leader and 14 other fellow soldiers from Fort Polk in Louisiana who either trained or served with Doles attended the funeral.
Staff Sgt. Adam Oliver, Doles team leader, said, Doles was the hardest worker Ive ever seen in my life. He was one of those guys that everybody liked and probably the best soldier Ive ever been in charge of. He was always willing to go the distance and beyond without ever being asked.
Staff Sgt. Stephen Podymaitis, said Im just a better man for having known him.
Podymaitis said he and his family lived next door to Doles and his family and their two sons practically grew up together.
He brought happiness to everybodys life, Podymaitis said. Still in disbelief that his friend is gone Podymaitis said: Hes a brother in arms and a brother in heart.
But I thought there was some study that disproved the allegation that returning soldiers were ever spit upon!?!
sarc/off
The old hippy anti-war crowd haven't changed, have they?
Ah, yes, another "peace lover" using violence to make his point.
When that trash tried to protest funerals here in Oklahoma, the area biker groups got together and drowned them out with their pipes!
I'll email Wvayne.....

I was also at the parade with a friend about 20 feet away from this idiot. Kimmer was directly across the street. Right as the parade started I went up and confronted him. He was about 6'6" and probably 275 pounds but not in very good shape. He wasn't obviously drunk or high but he was very dirty and unkempt. He and I exchanged very heated words for about 5 minutes. He claimed to be a Vietnam vet from 1968. When I told him I was an Air Force vet he said, "F... the Air Force." He turned away from me and spit on the ground several times. I tried my hardest to provoke him more but he just keep yelling about how George H. W. Bush had killed JFK and that GW's grandfather was Hitler's banker. You can't even find that kind of crap at moveon.org! We decided to stay near him and every time he tried to yell something disgraceful we would cheer or clap for the parade participants. One guy atop a small APC just looked at him and just gave him the finger and the crowd erupted in cheers. The run in with Kim was a few minutes after the parade and I wish I had been there. I called Kimmer on the air later that afternoon and thanked him for taking this guy out. Although Kimmer got a couple scrapes he did get to take this guy out and created a lively topic for the Friday drive home. Had the guy actual spit on me at the beginning of the parade, Kimmer wouldnt have had such an exciting story. It would have only been something like, Man, I went to the parade and saw this 38 year old guy kick the living crap out of some idiot. Thanks Kim; we'll call it even. I gotta go, youre killing me.
God bless the Kimmer. He is a great honest radio voice for Atlanta. The only one with no fear except for God and country. hee haw.
