WHITE HOUSE: Setting the Record Straight: Sen. Kennedy On Iraq
White House ^ | November 11, 2005

Posted on 11/11/2005 3:07:21 PM PST by West Coast Conservative

"It is regrettable that Senator Kennedy has chosen Veteran's Day to continue leveling baseless and false attacks that send the wrong signal to our troops and our enemy during a time of war. It is also regrettable that Senator Kennedy has found more time to say negative things about President Bush then he ever did about Saddam Hussein. If America were to follow Senator Kennedy's foreign policy, Saddam Hussein would not only still be in power, he would be oppressing and occupying Kuwait."

- Scott McClellan, White House Press Secretary

Sen. Kennedy On Iraq

Sen. Kennedy Said Saddam Hussein Was Developing WMDs: "We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." (Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Remarks At The Johns Hopkins School Of Advanced International Studies, Washington, D.C., 9/27/02)

Sen. Kennedy: "Saddam Hussein Is A Dangerous Figure. He's Got Dangerous Weapons." (CBS' "Face The Nation," 10/6/02)

Sen. Kennedy Now Says The President Manipulated Facts About Iraq's WMDs: "'Instead of providing open and honest answers about how we will achieve success in Iraq and allow our troops to begin to come home,' Kennedy said, 'the president reverted to the same manipulation of facts to justify a war we never should have fought.'" (Deb Riechmann, "Bush Forcefully Attacks Critics Of The War In Iraq," Associated Press, 11/11/05)

Sen. Kennedy Opposed Removing Saddam Hussein From Kuwait. (S.J.Res.2, CQ Vote #2: Adopted 52-47: R 42-2; D 10-45, 1/12/91, Kennedy Voted Nay)

Sen. Kennedy Opposed Removing Saddam Hussein From Power. (H. J. Res. 114, CQ Vote #237: Passed 77-23: R 48- 1; D 29-21; I 0-1, 10/11/02, Kennedy Voted Nay)

Worse part is that Kennedy does not believe what he is saying.

________

I wouldn't be so sure about that.

________

Senator Kennedy is a member of a prominent political cabal representing some of the most cowardly, destructive, and selfish people ever to darken our national discourse. It pains me to write Senator in front of his name because he is so utterly undeserving of that honorable title. What Kennedy and his ilk have become in this country bears no resemblance to the term "loyal opposition". They are the enemy within and should be treated as such.

_________

Kennedy is an example of the worst for two reasons:

His sheltered life and upbringing has caused the classic "liberal guilt syndrome" inherent in many of the Kennedys, and many NE liberals. So, he actually believes much of what he say, because he is naive and disconnected from the rest of the country, and reality. He is miserable human being, first and third person.

Like many liberals, he's not afraid to lie about an issue if it furthers his agenda. He feels justified because he's "doing the right thing." Like many liberals, he craves power more than justice; that power is a "necessary evil."

Would liberals be attacking DA Fitzgerald if the shoe were on the other foot? Yes. Are Republicans? By and large, no.

Would Republicans be undermining the war effort while troops are on the battlefield if a Dem were in the White House? No.

Unfortunately, our Republican friends in Washington righ now will not fight the Dems on the same level. Bush started last Friday; we'll see how it goes.

Fat Teddie continues to swim in the murk and mud in which he left Ms. Kopekne.

Liars never change and the press continues its pious coverage of the Fatster.

"How is it possible that that idiot Kennedy and his son Kerry could ever still be in office? What is the matter with Mass? They must all be inbred in that state....they are 2 of the most un American people I have ever seen."

Well, no we're not all inbred (life-long MA resident here), but I'm at a loss to explain the politics. This state is filled with urbane, well-groomed, glassy-eyed liberal "intellectuals" that for some reason just don't get it. It's very frustrating.

Actually the car never completely sand beneath the very shallow water. There is some evidence to indicate that kennedy could have saved her life. But he apparently chose to let her die.

It's also unfortunate that Senator Kennedy is still holding public office.

Hey be nice, that office was bought and paid for by his daddy, he can keep it as long as he wants. They promised.

"Regrettable" is too weak. The words "contemptible", "seditious", and "treasonous" come to mind.

yeah but my point is that i don't agree with the pres using veterans day for partisan bs

Seems to me that Veteran's Day is the perfect time to address this issue. The left is hurting our military, every time they open their yaps; spouting lies and half truths about the military mission and successes. They embolden our enemies, and are literally making so that more young people aren't around to enjoy a Veteran's Day of their own, in their old age.

I ask you, what better time and place to let the military know that they are truely appreciated, and to stick a finger in the face of everyone that disparages them and our efforts and say "shame on you"? (Personally, I would have preferred a big FU to the left. You take what you can get, though :-)

I wish someone could e-mail the attorney Furman who tracked down the Kennedy cousin and took him to trail. We could ask Furman to do the same investigative work and dig up the skelton's in ol Ted's closet and revisit the scene of the crime. With DNA of today, there probably is a way to prove what really happened with that girlfriend who died in the car. It's about time someone put him under the microscope and see how likes it. Does anyone know how to reach Furman?

Mary Jo was cremated quickly. Is there DNA left to investigate?

Are you thinking of Mark Furman? He wouldn't be so hard to track down. Do a Google search and give it a try.
