November 11, 2005--On Veterans Day 2005, 78% of Americans have a favorable opinion of the United States Military forces. A Rasmussen Reports survey found that just 10% have an unfavorable opinion.
Forty-eight percent (48%) of Americans consider Veterans Day one of the nation's most important holidays. Six percent (6%) say it is one of the least important while 43% place it somewhere in between.
Thirty-nine percent (39%) will do something special to commemorate Veterans Day this year. Fifty-three percent (53%) will not.
Among Veterans, 64% consider this day one of the nation's most important holidays and 61% will do something special to commemorate it.
Among those with relatives and close friends serving in Iraq, 51% will do something special to commemorate the holiday.
While President Bush has tumbled in the polls, he still retains support among America's military veterans. Sixty-percent (60%) of Veterans approve of the way the President is performing his job, including 30% who Strongly Approve.
Rasmussen Reports is an electronic publishing firm specializing in the collection, publication, and distribution of public opinion polling information.
Rasmussen Reports was the nation's most accurate polling firm during the Presidential election and the only one to project both Bush and Kerry's vote total within half a percentage point of the actual outcome.
During Election 2004, RasmussenReports.com was also the top-ranked public opinion research site on the web. We had twice as many visitors as our nearest competitor and nearly as many as all competitors combined.
Scott Rasmussen, president of Rasmussen Reports, has been an independent pollster for more than a decade.
Well at least we have a poll that adds up to 100.
Disgusting!
Our population is 20% commie?
22% is doggone nearly a quarter that are too stupid to know or blantantly hate the troops. That is a scary number to have 1/4 of our society in that God forsaken place.
What a creative headline
I beg to differ.
What kind of jerk would say anything but YES - I HAVE A FAVORABLE OPINION OF THE TROOPS?
It makes you shake your head in wonder. Sad... Sickening... Shameful.... And I'm sure they're Democrats or "Liberals" or Progressives.
Those folks should be ashame of themselves....
The 22% that hate or don't know will not hesitate to use those troops for political gain.
"Support Our Troops...Bring Them Home."
B.S.
They're the ones who will be sympathizers to the enemy when they start attacks in the cities of America.
78% of Americans have a favorable opinion of the United States Military forces
----And I am proud to be one of them! Anybody who is not proud should be ashamed of themselves because these men are fighting for THEM.
Damn, almost a quarter of those polled. .....disheartening.
What kind of a$$hole would take a poll like this on Veterans Day?
Disgusting!
That was my first reaction when I read the headline. What a jerk -ff!
Those 22% are the Democrat party base.
Those 22% despicable traitors represent half of the Democrat party base and at the same time the most active, the most vocal, and the most influential on the democrat party policy.
You have to assume that almost all of that 22 percent are Rats. And since Rats make up roughly one-third of the electorate, you can probably accurately say that a majority of Rats are anti-military (anti-American, really.)
