Heheh, thanks, tol. Interesting thread also. I don't think the Republican party is going to pick someone who is winning on name recognition 3 years before the election. They have to know they can't sell McCain to the vast majority of conservatives and they're not going to take a bullet for him the way they did with Dole.

Other than his choice in headwear, Allen has done all the right things so far. I think he is far and away the best candidate.

Senator Allen doesn't want to be seen as exaggerating his height, but hee hee, I bet he wears cowboy boots. I don't have a problem with that, or with his carefully cultivated, down home cowboy image. I like what Allen says, and how he says it. He looks like a great candidate right now, but I look for a mudbath if he and McCain go up against each other in the primaries, not to mention how Allen will fare once Hillary goes on the attack.
You know Allen has enemies in Virginia, and they will come out of the woodwork if he runs for president.
