Bill O'Reilly takes aim at San Francisco

Does Bill O'Reilly have it in for the city by the bay?

San Franciscans have been in an uproar this week over apparent comments by the host of Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor" that it was A-OK for terrorists to wipe the city off the map.

At issue are comments from O'Reilly's Election Day broadcast on his syndicated Westwood One radio show about a San Francisco ballot measure opposing the presence of military recruiters in city schools.

I was waiting for that and deserved it. ;)

Seriously, my hat goes off to you. You must be a far stronger person than I.

It was the experience of living and working in Frisco in the early 80's that turned me into a conservative. Before that revelation of loony leftism run amok, I actually considered myself one of them. Seeing how they operated in real life convinced me I wasn't. And the city back then was sane compared to what it is now. Needless to say, it is physically one of the best-situated and most picturesque cities in America, and I liked living there. But most of the people are utter nitwits. As Robin Williams put it, "a human game preserve".

Near as I can tell it would be anti Constitutional to try to enforce this. It has about as much impact as when they declared San Francisco and Berkeley as Nuclear Free Zones! I'm sure this will be tested ASAP, and thrown out.

No offense taken.....San Francisco brings things on themselves, but there are 6 Conservatives here...my husband, 2 of my kids (unfortunately one is a lib!) and 2 other guys. We identify eachother by our secret handshake!

The city today is a joke---self obsessed, smug, self congratulatory and aggrandising in it's far left positions...looney liberal left ground zero. The city council actually had to have a debate---remember this?---about whether taking a crap in the middle of the street was against the law. The city hates the military, has turned the homeless into saints (and well-off ones at that), rabidly promotes the radical gay agenda as a social norm (and views anyone contrary as homophobic), loathes all religious belief except Kaballah and Islam, openly tolerates drugs and prostituion as victimless crimes, and has an air of moral and intellectual superiority that boggles the imagination (after Gray Davis was thrown out on his ass---never a more corrupt and incompetent politician has there ever been---San Francisco was one of the few counties that voted to keep him in office. Every article published in the local papers claimed that it was the fact that San Franciscans were "better educated and better informed" as the reason they voted the way they did).

Sounds just like Austin, Texas to me!

Actually, it sounds just like Massachusetts, anything goes here!

That's the best description of SF I've seen. I remember the first time I ever went there, probably in the early'90s and I was shocked at having to literally step over "homeless" on every sidewalk. Later visits showed that the corner squeege man or will work for food sign holders were on every street corner harrasing cars. By this time Guliani had already cleaned up NY and I could only get the feeling that they all migrated westward.

It truly is a beautiful area and a unique city but I just can't stomach the place. NY may be liberal but at least it has some pretense of decency.

Always wondered why the angels couldn't just teleport him and his family out of harms way in Sodom. It was like God *wanted* them to look back..

I sure as hell would. It'd be a plus for the rest of us, imo.

"And if al-Qaida comes in here and blows you up, we're not going to do anything about it. We're going to say, look, every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower? Go ahead,"

By giving a rigid digit to our magnificent military, they've come to deservbe whatever they get. Any one of those creeps who voted to ban effective self defense fully deserves whatever home invasiion, robbery, rape, etc. he she, or it suffers as a result. Divine retribution. The Lord helps those who help themselves.

I don't think he said anything that 90% of America hasn't already been thinking anyway. Get over it, you whiney, pompous, treasonous, socialist SF snotheads. "People" in SF have made comments 1,000% worse than this (including openly advocating the assasination of the president), and somehow that's OK - and is NEVER reported in the media (gee, I wonder why??). They think they shouldn't be held accountable, but anyone who disagrees with THEM, even a little bit, should be. They make me sick (along with their willing lapdogs in the news media and entertainment industry). I am ashamed to admit that I live near that smouldering, stinking, worthless dungheap of a city.

However, I truly do not wish them to be vaporized by the moslems. As appealing as the idea may be in moments of weakness (see above!!), as a Christian, I know that God wants them alive so that they will have the maximum amount of time to repent from their MANY sins, and embrace Him. He alone should decide when his patience has run out, not a bunch of godless fanatics in headscarves.

As Christians, we should be turning out by the thousands at every anti-war rally and "peace" march they have in SF, and walk amongst them calmly and cheerfully, preaching the gospel. That is probably what Jesus would rather have us do, instead of wishing for their vaporization. We should be trying to minister them, and gently turn them to God, and let God worry about handing out justice to them for their wicked ways.

However, even though I know that we SHOULD be trying to turn them to Jesus, I also admit to being terribly afraid to do so. I know full well that the level of hatred is so high in SF that if we as Chistians actually tried to do something like I suggested above, that there would probably be attendees at the "peace" rally who would try to kill us. Many of us also feel that it wouldn't do any good anyway - but is that just our way of "chickening out"?? In my case, yes it is!!

:)

This is the dichotomy of being a Christian. Many of us know what we SHOULD be doing to turn this nation around - going out to the streets and confronting evil directly - but most of us are afraid to do what it takes (including myself). Does that make us hypocrites?? No, it just makes us human. Will you see me at an anti-Bush rally in SF anytime soon, trying to minister to the misguded?? Probably not. Not unless I purchase a LOT more health insurance, and riot gear first!! Will I continue to complain like in the first paragraph above?? Probably.

This is why I have so much respect for the Protest Warriors and Freepers who actually DO show up at these satan-fests in SF, and other places. They are the ones who are truly willing to go out to the front lines of this war, and put themselves on the line. I add them to the list of people whom I salute on this Veterans Day.

The one anti-war march that I attended in SF, back in March of 2003, and stood with some Freepers holding signs, was truly an eye-opening experience. On that occasion, all the attendees at the "peace" march ignored the Freepers, and simply walked past them. Noting the ever-increasing levels of violence and hatred in SF, I don't think anyone on "our side" can expect their so-called "restraint" to continue. Some of the photos on the Protest Warrior's web sites will testify to that.

Guess I should have put in a sarcasm tag!

I am definitely not in the closet and we do have a lot of other conservatives. However, not unlike many other major cities we have more than our share of inner city dwellers who are cradle to grave democrats, and are unwilling or too stupid to think for themselves. It is a "Union town", and many union members are also unable to see beyond their own interests to think of trying to do what is right for the rest of the people. We also have a large gay population, as well as limousine liberals who unfortunately out shout and out weigh the rest of us. I am far from giving up on the city of my birth, as I remember better times here. Hopefully they will return, and God willing I will live to see them! Thank you for wishing me God's Blessing...it is appreciated!

How much paint would it take to get a real good target painted on the city?

If you'll remember, it was just Lot's wife that looked back. And it was way more dynamic the way it really happened. Blindness, fleeing in the night before you get sulfur rained on you, etc. Awesome.

Will be awaiting the count of firearms willingly turned in by the deadline (April 1st.) There is apparently no buy-back offered.

(We conservatives in San Francisco thank you for your support! ;>) )

Does your address happen to coincide with that of a museum by any chance?
Hat's off to you. You have more fortitude (or maybe you're a glutton for punishment?) than the rest of us. New York City was too much for me to take.
