MARTINEZ -- A 22-year-old Martinez woman is in police custody after allegedly having Internet correspondence with someone who solicited sex from her and her 4-year-old daughter in exchange for $500, police said.
Shannon Nicole Woods, of the 200 block of Thistle Circle, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of offering a minor under 16 for lewd and lascivious acts. She is being held on $50,000 bail, said Martinez police detective Sgt. Gary Peterson.
Police are reviewing videotapes and the contents of Woods' laptop while determining whether they have enough evidence to charge her with a crime.
Peterson said police received tips from a citizen and from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that Woods was prostituting her daughter.

This should be a capital crime.

Nah. I much prefer to let her roomies in prison do the deed. Much more painful that way.

$500,000.00 would be appropriate bail, methinks.

I am sure the left will argue that this would be well within her parental rights, and that her arrest constitutes a violation of her "right to choose"

Let's not be hasty, have we heard an opinion from the 9th circus court? If the mother agreed to share the $500 with her daughter, and if only safe sex were practiced, then the court will surely find in the mothers defense. Where did I put my .357?

Sell that pathetic excuse for a mother to the North Koreans. They can strip her down and have the entire 1 million man army have fun with her. Closest thing to hell on earth!

Sadly, there are people here on FR who are on the opposite end of the spectrum from the 9th Circus, and assert that no government agency should have authority to remove the little girl from ehr mother's custody, until the mother has been tried and convicted of a crime. I don't minimize the seriousness of CPS abuses, but there really DOES need to be a mechanism to take the child first, and prosecute later.

I think she would enjoy that too much.

Don't those mean old police know that the Constitution guarantees the fundamental right of a mother to prostitute her daughter? I'm calling the ACLU right now!

Shannon Nicole Woods, of the 200 block of Thistle Circle, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of offering a minor under 16 for lewd and lascivious acts. She is being held on $50,000 bail, said Martinez police detective Sgt. Gary Peterson. This might actually be a tough case for the prosecution.
I don't know what their evidence is, but they will have to show that this was more than an online fantasy. The prosecution will need to provide proof that she was actually offering up her daughter for sex, rather than just talking about it.
