Pirates attack more ships off Somalia: official (where is the Mother ship?)

NAIROBI (Reuters) - Somali pirates attacked five ships in the past week in a sharp rise of banditry apparently directed from a mysterious "mother ship" prowling the busy Indian Ocean corridor, shipping experts said on Friday.

Ivan Illych Pershing perhaps?

Someday I hope to find out if that Pershing story is true. He was there at the right time, but nobody is actually on record about the pig entrails, iykwim....

Could be urban legend, but it sounds like what they did in Lebanon when some of their diplomatic personnel were kidnapped. They grabbed the suspected kidnappers' families and left "souvenirs" in various places until their people were returned unharmed.

This is the sorta thing the enemy understands. Always thought we were fighting this war the wrong way. 'Course I'm probably wrong since we're getting pretty remarkable results...
