Can we borrow him for a while?
America needs more plain talk like this.
This guy knows whats going on and states flat out it isnt going to happen.
In short, the Muslim world half a century from now can expect the short end of the stick from the modern world. It has generated only two great surpluses, namely people and oil. By the middle of the century both of these will have begun to dwindle. But at the moment it has 25 million idle young men. No leader can remain in power who does not give them a destination to march to.

"Rather than saying `I'd like to change everything about Australia, everything it stands for," maybe the problem doesn't lie with the country, maybe it lies with the individual."
I can't figure out if Costello is talking about Islamic terrorists in Australia or Liberals in America???
GW should say the same. Or get one of his flunkies to do it
Wish we could hear our "leaders" say this....
Hatemonger!
"What does that mean?" he(Le Pen) asked. "Are they French because they have a French identity card?" ==

Good question.
"You're right; there is no point in living in a country with a system of government we oppose; so we intend to change it (we have no intention of leaving)".""There are some things Islam stands for, has always stood for, always will stand for, which will never change, and Australia will one day be an Islamic state. It will observe Sharia law ... It will not always be a democracy."
The overt objective of Islam is the establishment of a world-wide Islamic theocracy (this includes Australia, by the way) with the koran as the constitution, the shariah as international law, and dhimmitude, slavery, or death to non-believers. Anyone who does not take them at their word is bonkers.
If Costello thinks Muslims are going to change their minds about this--and just because he has told them to--he's in for a surprise.
bump
Addendum: "voluntarily or involuntarily."
Mr. Costello gets it.
Someone gets it. Wish it were someone here.
I'm booking marking this page and saving his words...
A bumper sticker I'd like to see:
"Peter Costello for President in 2008!"
(He'd have my vote)
