The only problem with the Mapes version is that there is absolutely no proof that it is true.

In the delusional alternate universe the Left inhabits, something is true simply if they believe it to be so, want it to be so, and it furthers their agenda. In their warped minds, the onus is on us to prove they are lying. But even when it's been proven that they lied, the proof doesn't matter to them at all, and they continue to lie blatantly and pathologically.

I used to think that liberals lied knowing they were lying. But it's become more than obvious that they truly believe their own lies. They have lied for so long about so many things that it has become as natural to them as breathing. And they have invested so much effort in lying that lies have become their reality. Lies have become the very fabric of their being, and they are incapable of telling the truth. Their consciences, as the Bible says, have been seared with a hot iron.

an emergence of "digital McCarthyism" as conservative bloggers manipulate the internet, and how news organizations are collapsing under political-and commercial-pressures.

Hard to slur honesty and truth but that never stopped a leftist from trying.

A most excellent post.

This is exactly how they developed their conspiracy theory on how the Republicans stole the Ohio election. The MSM published, and broadcast, flawed polling data over and over to make it seem that the Republican candidates didn't stand a chance, which was the result they were hoping for.

When the actual results did not fit there expectations, they concocted the incredible conspiracy theory that the Republicans used CIA satellites to manipulate the voting machines. Their proof: (1) the manufacturer of the voting machines was a Republican, and (2) the results contradicted the polling data. I read several times, people saying, "How can so many polls be so far off?"

This is exactly what the demoRats and the MSM are up to right now. They are using a flawed poll on the President's popularity in order to (1) casts a cloud over his leadership with the hope of stopping further Republican wins in the 2006 elections, and (2) use as a basis of proof that the elections were rigged and should be investigated with the hope of naturalizing the winner's political power.
