LONDON (Reuters) - Former Beatle Paul McCartney is to broadcast live into space from a U.S. concert to two astronauts circling the globe.
He will play "Good Day Sunshine" and one of his latest songs, "English Tea," to NASA astronaut Bill McArthur and Russian cosmonaut Valery Tokarev who are on an international space station 220 miles above the earth.
McCartney, who will be singing into space Saturday from Anaheim, California via NASA television, got the idea when he discovered that the crew of the spaceship Discovery were treated to a burst of "Good Day Sunshine" in August as a wake-up call from Mission Control.
"I was extremely proud to find out that one of my songs was played for the crew of Discovery this summer. In our concert we hope to repay the favor," he said in a statement.
Don't worry. They'll all be together again soon enough......
Thanks. Now I've got that damned song going through my head.
What awesome talent she has.................../s
Ok can we agree that Yoko is definitely not the 20th/21st century version of Gilbert.
Someone needs to beam Paul McCartney himself into space.
I hope they at least tell us why before Earth is obliterated by an interstellar death ray.
I think Sting nominated himself as the 20th century Mozart.
NICE! I am a huge fan of Hotblack Desiato!
Maybe George Clinton, in the P-Funk mothership, can intercept it before it dooms us all.
The guitar solo with only 2 notes played over and over again is more than enough to catapult "No, No, No" into the Bottom 5 songs just by itself. The lyrics serve to plummet it to the bottom of the list by a huge margin. It is absolutely hilarious to listen to, so long as you are surrounded by other admirers of the tragically awful.
Someone left the cake out in the rain I don't think that I can take it 'Cause it took so long to bake it And I'll never have that recipe again Oh, Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Translated: "TURN THAT CRAP DOWN!"
Maybe Paul and George Lucas can get together and do a music/space movie concert: It`s where you do something 30 years ago and stretch out for all it`s worth by doing it over and over and over and over and over...
McArthur Park has my nomination for the absolute worst song ever recorded.
Na-na-na-na,Na-na-na-na, Hey! Hey! Goodbye!

Na-na-na-na,Na-na-na-na, Hey! Hey! Goodbye!
Na-na-na-na,Na-na-na-na, Hey! Hey! Goodbye!
Na-na-na-na,Na-na-na-na, Hey! Hey! Goodbye!
Na-na-na-na,Na-na-na-na, Hey! Hey! Goodbye!
None of us gets out alive...
Anyone who forces their dog to strictly eat vegetarian because they do is a sick b@$^@&d in my book.
